4 Attachment(s)
First batch is now in stock on the site. Expect these to have the same burst performance and drag brake strength as a BRXL, but in a smaller package that is thermally limited by the size of wires, motor, and battery being used. ON resistance is the same, so the amount of heat will be no higher. But, a smaller size causes temperatures to be higher without careful use. Tune at your own risk!

The controller listed for sale is not protectively coated to allow for easy motor and battery wire installation. Users will need to do this for best operation. Plasti-dip works if conformal coating is not available to you. We will shortly have dual controllers and wired controllers listed on the site, they will be conformally coated.

My recommended installation is with 16ga or 18ga wire in USRCCA style competitive situations with limited run times. You can run any single brushed motor from Puller 550 to 400 frame sizes, but heat must be watched on larger and lower resistance motors. 180f max is safe for limited time runs.

In longer driving situations, like scale rigs and G6 competitions, larger wire such as 13ga or 12ga must be used to wick out heat and provide higher thermal mass to the system. Any single brushed motor frame sized 550 and smaller can be ran, but heat must be watched and gearing adjusted to keep temps below 160f. Your rig weight, gearing, and throttle finger will determine how hot the system gets.

This is a high performance product, not a stock replacement part intended for a specific vehicle. As such, you will need to find your own system limits for each system. Happy tuning!

In servo / winch / mini applications the main capacitor can be reduced in size. We are working on instructions to describe this and multi unit bricks.

Awesome stuff. I am glad I have one coming. Will you have some with you at Nats? Because I need to pick up a few more:twisted:

For scale applications, are you going to offer later on...

1. Cased,heatsink,waterproof

2. Non cased, heatsink, waterproof

?

Re: TorqueMaster BR Mini Packs the Power!

We will offer waterproofed versions with 13ga wire attached for scale applications and users that don't want to wire and coat themselves, it will just be heatshrink covered as a final protective layer.

There is not a plastic cased or heatsinked version planned at this time. Because of the small size the thermal mass does not increase much with a regular heatsink. We may look into doing an extruded case for protection after the RTR scale version is settled.

Awesome can't wait to get a set of these.

Would you offer these already smashed together for a extra cost?

Looks sweet..
Any thoughts on a combo?

Two mini's, smashed with a CC bec, and a pair of matched pullers ???????
Sounds like the ultimate comp crawler combo right there..

Pretty fricking smart!! I think I'll be picking one up for my next build!

I will start fleshing out the other build types about the middle of September after Nationals and after we have moved Volt Riders to the new location.

What parts get heated? One might consider using thermally conductive glue/tape to stick the ESC to part of the frame or so for better cooling. :)

Got mine in the mail today. Installed 2 of them in the XR...they're buttery smooth just as they should be...and of course they pack more punch than other ESC's "thumbsup"

Great work on these controllers John!

Re: TorqueMaster BR Mini Packs the Power!

A heads up for you early users, we have seen some issues where two units tied together run hot and have some amperage issues. We are tracking down whether software or hardware issue and will have it resolved asap. This wasn't an issue in the protos and doesn't seem to be affecting all production units, it has been difficult to pin down so far but we will get it solved whether it is a simple firmware update or new units being sent out!

Edit- 1.10 Firmware has a bug, do not use Hold mode.
