It's makes a good comparison tool. I know my Wraithzilla is about as fast as my wife's stock Yeti, her on 2s me on 3s and an AX2 tranny. I've estimated the speed via GPS at about 23mph. At that speed though, the Wraith gets pretty difficult to control. The CG is too high and solid front axle is a bitch at speed. I tried for a long time to get that Wraith to be fast and crawl well but in the end I built a new rig for pure crawling.

I haven't had any heat issues with my Holmes setup. IIRC, the top motor temp I recorded was around 140F.

Here is a question I haven't seen asked previously. I had it all decided that I was going to get the 3500kv std and ble for my mattzilla wraith. Now I am wondering if I should do the ble and 3500xl. The XL would still be a 50,000 rpm motor right? And the only difference would be a little less startup control and extra overall power?
Only reason I am thinking that now is because I have a summit I may be customizing too. And down the road may put this esc and motor in that. Would a standard 3500 and ble work good in a summit with huge tires and alum wheels or would I for sure need the XL for that truck? The summit would be estimated between a 12 and 15 lb truck

I would go with the standard Puller Pro in a Wraith based vehicle. The standard has more than enough power to throw around a Wraith or Bomber plus you don't have to worry about modding the upper link mount to fit the longer XL motor.

For a Summit, I wouldn't use a Puller XL. The Summit has tons of room for a huge ESC, 1/8 scale motor with 75+ mm can, and 4-6S batteries; why risk things running hot with a smaller ESC and motor running 3S? I'm sure the Puller XL has the grunt to get a Summit moving but it probably wouldn't be very happy doing it.

My experience with the MMX is just what I've read. I don't think it would provide any additional power but I do like the auxiliary wire feature and data logging, I can never have too much data.

You should be able to find a 4s 2200 pack to fit the chassis. When I do 4s (for brief runs) I just use a 1300 mAH and there's a lot of extra room.

They mmx is way more violent on the bottem end than the mmp in my opinion

You have a radio or throttle profile issue if talking about the smoothness of throttle. If talking about the hammer dropping punch of a full trigger grab, the mmx will deliver more if gearing and motor and battery allow.

I've been considering the CC 2650kv brushless motor for awhile and became interested in this when I saw it was brushless, sensored and waterproof.

Which version would be equivalent to the performance of the CC 2650kv motor?

I think that is an 8th scale motor. How about you tell us what your plans are, otherwise I could be telling you to put the wrong motor into a e-revo or something.

It is an 8th scale, it would be going in a slash 4x4. Basically just bashing around, hill climbing, beach, trails, puddles, jumping etc.

I don't care for the cogging that non sensored brushless motors do when you give it a little power but hadn't seen a waterproof sensored brushless till I saw this. Also was planning to pair with a CC MMX esc.

I run the 540 standard in my 4x4 lcg stampede, it's rather nutty using the 3500kv and 3s. The xl would be the most powerful and has 5mm shaft. I twist shafts too easy with the 540, the extra 1/4 to 1/2 lb for a larger motor will only make that worse.

I run the standard 540 w/MMX on 3s in my Bomber. I made the mistake of pulling full throttle in the driveway. I'd say it was about a 1 1/2 standing backflip.

Couldn't tell a difference crawling and or smoothness wise (other than not listening to a fan the whole time) but when you give it 100% from a stand still the MMX makes the mmp look weak

Yeah, I was curious about the slash but recently picked up a 1/10 yeti so not sure if the 2650 would be a good motor for the yeti or not or what gearing would be a good match for it

About today. We have the shipment and are processing through inventory and assembling waterproofed motors.

We thunk ahead this time and had a stack of sensor boards already done and ready for hot swap.

I may have missed it somewhere, is a 2650/2700 XL available or in the plans? I'm wondering if this on 4s would be better than the 3500/3800 motors I've been running on 3s

3500xl in my yeti and 3800 castle in my SMT. On 3s currently.

I killed the yeti motor and the SMT seems to lack the grunt and the temps are higher than I'd like.

Something in my head tells me 2650/2700 on 4s would be a better option, and well since I have to buy a motor anyway....

The esc will typically run a shade cooler using lower Kv and higher voltage. Motor won't run different though. If you have plenty of 3s packs, use a 3500.

The XL is overkill anyway. I've got folks running stubbies in the smt10 and breaking parts. A standard 4500 on 3s is what I'll be throwing in.
