Do you think that a sidewinder/revolver black is better/same/worse than a Sidewinder/crawlmaster sport combo

I am looking to build a Ax10.

Thanks

The Crawlmaster is a larger motor and has more power. I used to run a bigger motor like that...a Z3013-16. The thing is...depending on your trans you might need to trim a bit for the larger outrunners to fit. The Revolver being a little smaller doesn't have these fit issues -- and it still has PLENTY of power. As I've noted in other posts above...I love mine. I have one in my Hilux HL and one in my TLT-based crawling rig.

If I were you, I'd go with the Sidewinder/Revolver combo.

Yeah, sure do. Would a Castle BEC be a good idea to run with that setup?

Gimpy00Wang 04-02-2008 11:17 AM

The CC BEC is always nice, but not necessarily required. I'd go with one for the Sidewinder. It's always good to have some power overhead.

Thanks. Ordered a Sidewinder, BEC, and Revolver Black. Should be pretty good for an ax-10.

Any news on when they'll be in stock again?

JohnRobHolmes 04-30-2008 08:59 PM

They are in stock now, I just refreshed inventory. Thanks for posting up about it.

BigRocks 05-01-2008 09:26 PM

Just placed an order for one unit.

Hope this has enough wheelspeed w/ a 8 or 9 tooth pinion for me
I was eyeing the HK-2221-12 as well but couldn't get any input on it, I like the kv rating.

EDIT: JRH - You should send me a sticker with my order

mattnin 05-15-2008 03:57 PM

I just ordered one of these too. I like the small size and all in black :-P

Alright John, I have a rr2 and lookin to go with more power since that is going into my boys scaler. I just bought a sidewinder from ya, runnin 9.6v with a r2. Rig is a droop gopher 2.2 that weighs around , well geez its kinda light. Using tlt axles, still have yet to get cvd though. what do you recomend (lookin to stick with brushless) Battery is a 2/3 1500mah. Thanks!!!

JohnRobHolmes 05-20-2008 08:13 AM

Well the revolver is always a good choice for an outrunner! :D I still like them better than the crawlmasters, they are easier to build around. Plenty of power too.
