I'm too cheap to buy a new motor so I will play it safe and stick with a 4S. Although if someone else want to try this, post up

Thanks for the reply

i was finally able to run the motor today (revolver) and i must say, i am blown away! with an axial trans and 14t pinion, there is abalutely NO COGGING AT ALL!!!!! even going the slowest my trigger finger could go i could not get this to cog at all. and it moved my 13 pound rig like its nothing, also has some wheel speed to it all in all, this is a fantastic motor for the price, John you have struck gold with this one!!

I've got a quick wiring question. I recently picked one of the revolver motors up in the classifieds. I'll be using a Hobbywing Brushless ezrun crawler esc. The three wires on the esc are labeled as....

A - Blue
B - Yellow
C - Orange

The motor wires are Black, Red, and Blue. Which wires go together?

This is my first time dealing with Brushless systems so I know nothing about how they connect.

It doesn't matter which way. If the motor runs backwards just swap two wires.

I'm hanging out for my two to arrive. Looking forward to seeing what they can do.

Sounds good, I've never messed with wiring a brushless setup so I wasn't sure how they went.

Thanks for the help man,
Eric

Finally got my Revolver installed along with my HobbyWing 35A EZRun ESC. I've played with the settings several times for drag brake force, Start Mode (punch), maximum brake force and initial brake force and I can't seem to get the combo to NOT immediately stop when letting off of the throttle. It's as if the tranny is locking up. Is this a common thing with this motor? This is my first venture into the world or brushless motors for rock crawling, but I know that my VXL Slash 4x4 doesn't lock up when getting off of the throttle.

Right now, I have the Drag Brake Force set to 20%, Start Mode (Punch) set to Level 5 (anything less and I lose my low throttle abilities), maximum Brake Force at 100% (the instructions recommend this in Rock Crawler mode) and Initial Brake Force set to "= Drag Brake Force". This last variable I have tried in the three other options (0%, 20% and 40%) and I can't tell a difference with the issue that I am having.

If this is a inherited characteristic of this motor, then no worries. I will just know not to immediately let off of the throttle and to ease out a bit more than I usually do. If it's not, then do you have an idea on what I can change on my ESC?

To me this just sounds like the drag brake doing it's business, as it should.
Mine does the same thing (55t brushed motor and 7t Puller) and even flip over/endo unless I put on some heavier or bigger wheels.

Mine arrived today. Awesome presence, they make the old 900 - 1000kv plane motors I used to run look puny. Can't wait to try them out.

What kind of gearing would you suggest on a SCX10 with 4.7" tall tires with the revolver? I'm using a 3s lipo and was playing around and used a 78t spur and 30t pinion and that thing was fast, killed batteries quick. It would pull a nice wheelie tho..... I'm using T-Maxx shafts and a 87T spur will rub the trans output with the T-maxx parts on it.

I came across this motor out of necessity...I am working on a 1/14 Tractor and will be hauling a trailer as well....I am very limited with space due to the modification of the cab and such and heard this is a strong enough motor for my needs

Can ANY ESC Be used? Such as a Novak rooster and such? or would a brushless esc be necessary...Pardon my newbness, but I normally stick wth Integy motors

Thank You In advance

Alfy

You need a brushless controller. I would recommend a Castle or Quark one.

Just picked up a CC SV2 and noticed the red black and white wires on it...The revolver has red, black and blue...

Is it red to red, black to black and blue to white?

First brushless setup and want to be sure
