Got both 540 and stubby. They are both great motors. Just dislike the electronic noise outrunner motors put out. It earned my Mog the nickname "radio" lol.

I received my Stubby a few weeks ago - only waited 11 months!!! Otherwise, I am trying to settle on an ESC... JRH has recommended the Mamba Max but that thing is a GIANT! My gearing cannot be as low as I would like it to be which is another reason I waited so long for this particular motor. The size of the Tekin RS Pro is more usable for me but would it be a good companion to the Stubby inside a Class 1 scaler? Any other recommends or warnings against something? Thanks!

| Re: Holmes Hobbies Revolver Black (Special edition) You lucky bastard! I had to wait more than three times longer! With the fan removed (as it's not needed for crawling) it isn't that big. Got my stubby installed and did a first test drive on the kitchen floor last night. * Power is at least in parity with my previous motor (a 17.5T TrackStar), and probably higher. (Need to run with larger pinions to find out. With the 14T pinion I mounted drifting in the kitchen was no problem.) * Runs smoother than my previous motor. * It gives off a quite loud high pitch chime when it runs. * The sensor cable is more exposed than desirable. |
