| Still Available?
JRH, I see that there is ONE Cobalt Puller available on the website, but it still says preorder. Is this still available in-stock or is it for your next batch? The reason I am asking is that it says shipped June 4th and I am interested in making the purchase. Let me know, Thanks. |

| Only build them because clods put the motors so low to the ground, and I just made a mine from thin sheet of Aluminium. I thought about just cutting up a soda can Got my truck drive worthy and, JRH my god these are powerful motors. They proved to much on 11.1 volts for my raptor2s so I dropped down to 7.4 and they still kick ass. Crawling up my couch and the truck started pushing the couch and I was sitting on it. Oh and I have one question about temp. Do I take it at the housing or the rotor and brushes? it runs about 110 at the housing and about 140 inside. Last edited by Speedyboy; 06-11-2008 at 11:56 PM. |

On the housing is where I temp at. The brushes get up to 180f pretty easy, just try and keep the housing under 160f.

You can put a fan over it if you wish. I recommend keeping the can under 160f, which is hot enough to burn your hand. Do you have a temp gun to check it with?

I got a 7T puller last week. It's a great motor but is my rooster crawler ESC with a 6-cell NIMH limiting the power output? How many amps can this motor draw at full load?

Amps at full load- breakage of tlt diffs occur around 30 to 35 amps. If your rig is stronger you could pull about 80 if you really wanted to. Your batteries and driveline will limit the amp draw more than the motor will.

Loosen the two screws on the "endbell" and rotate the aluminum part a bit. In the forward direction it will speed up, and it will become slower in reverse. You won't have to advance it more than a few millimieters in relation to the can. Any more than 7 degrees will start to heat up the motor a good bit and cause more stalling amperage with no gain in torque. Any more than 15 degrees and the brushes will start to wear fast and they will get really torn up from braking and reverse use. I time them all to zero before I ship them. |

Well , I just installed a 3 cell lipo !!! All I can say is WOW ! A crawler should not have this much wheelspeed...... I love it ! I'm glad I already installed the axial slipper, it needs it. THANKS JRH !
