Just get another one, especially if it is already well used. You have to be careful when filing them down, it is easy to remove too much. A 7.5mm round file would be the best bet.

Debris or bad bearings are really the only things.

The integy brushes take a long time to break in. Any standup serrated brush would be my suggestion. The integy would work for parts however.

and just to check, there are 3 lil teeny washers that go on the comm, 2 broze and 1 silver.... the silver goes on the bottom of the comm above the lower bearing, and the 2 bronze ones are on top of the com under the top bearing in the endbell... right? |

Hi I have a 10t puller. Right now I am running it on 14.4volts. It gets pretty hot. My tires are 8" tall, so I need the voltage. I put a fan to it, does the heat sinks on ebay do anygood or should I keep trying to gear it down more? Thanks for your time!

| Fans and heatsinks will all help, as will gearing down. The diameter of the motor is a smidge less than a normal 540, so most heatsinks may not fit snug.

Hi JohnRob, i wanted to know if a 3013-14 i got from you is to much for a mamba 25 with an external bec installed, the rig is a scaler that will weigh around 8lbs. running tlt axles 1.9 flat irons and an r2 on 8 tooth pinion(pretty slow, maybe i can gear it up a little?) and a 1:1 eritex transfer, so far i have tested it for about 10 minutes and the esc doesn't even get warm, but should i be looking for other problems besides temps, running 2s lipo.

| Losi 1/10 Comp Crawler
Iam in the process of setting up a 1/10 Losi Comp Crawler and was wondering what set up you would use? Its not for competions but just for fun... I do have two Hyperion 3s lipo batteries for it.

Since you said for fun, and not competition I would advise a brushless set up. Holmes has Hyperion motors and a Castle Mamba Pro that would be perfect. I see the 17.5 turn is not in stock, that one would work great with the 3S lipo packs you have. It does show a 13.5 in stock, that would be pretty fast, and quite powerful. I ran a Novak 13.5 on 2S to good effect. Personally I use his BR-XL controller and a variety of 35 turn brush motors, but I only compete with the truck and at the end of the 5 minute run my motor temps are fine. But if I continue to run until the battery has died (about 20 minutes), then the motor is a bit warmer, but still only about 130 degrees. I use Hyperion 1100 3S lipos. The brushless choice makes owning the truck a much more tolerable experience because of a lot less maintenance needed for the motor to work it's best. | |

Hi John, a question or three. I'm running an AX10 with FXR esc and a DX3E radio. In a few days I'm getting an R1 and will use a HH Torquemaster and HH 55T motor. What are the chances of getting another SR300 RX for the R1 and not having to change the throttle trim when I use the same TX for both vehicles? (Steering trim I'll try to do with pushrod length.) Next question, can I send you a money order for a Torquemaster and 55T motor combo? This avoids wife problems on the credit card statement. Shipping will be to San Antonio, TX, how much should I get the MO for? Question 3: can you give me a link to the explanation of the BEC in ESC's and why the CC BEC is a good idea and why the BEC output is less when higher battery voltage is used. I'm pretty sure you have explained how the ESC's BEC circuit differs from a seperate BEC's circuit and how the Torquemaster's BEC works but my tiny memory is filled from studying other things. Thanks John, best wishes, Mike S |
