Hello John, i've never had an high turn brushed motor and i'm wondering what kind of life expectancy something like a 27t - 35t would have in a trail truck like my scx10.I'm also thinking would it be enough torque because the truck is heavier than stock with a lot of steel and aluminum parts.Would i be better off with a brushless?I prefer a 2c lipo set up because that's what i have in my other stuff.I also like the idea of a custom motor - i don't really need it but i could buy one just because it's cool.

Yes, torque isn't an issue. Longevity is, and it really depends on how you drive. If you are slow and articulate when you drive, brushed is a good choice. If you hammer down and rock bounce, brushless would last much longer.

Sir Holmes, Wraith is going to be here tomorrow and already have a BR-XL on the way from AMain - waterproof of course. Thought about brushless but I like the simplicity and torque of brushed. What would you recommend for a Wraith that I am going to use for 80% trail/woods/water and 20% crawling? TrailMaster? CrawlMaster? Likely going to be running 2S & 3S Gens Ace LiPos and haven't planned on changing the gearing from stock unless I need to for the motor. I'm a slow and easy/technical driver with the occasional bash session. I take it pretty easy on my trucks. Let me know your thoughts and thanks in advance! Fink |

27t TrailMaster or TorqueMaster, geared 87/16 with 3s lipo. You can push the gearing a bit higher for some wheelspeed, the brushes will just wear faster.

Looks like the 27t TrailMasters are out of stock. Any idea when you might have some more? Thanks for your help as always, John! Fink

I have parts, I'll update the site. Gearing depends on your terrain and throttle finger. I recommend 87/16 because it is generally safe. |

Given how much water, dirt and sand we go through, I'll likely go with the TrailMaster and see how I like it. Again, thanks for your help! Fink

Just updated the site and changed the specs of the motor a bit. Not happy with the china can quality, so we have switched back to all Japanese parts. I'll leave the cheaper parts for the $30 motors.

Oh, and I asked for the motor leads to be installed. Hopefully the fingernails you ripped off the last guy have grown back so he's scared not to mess up again. Fink

Hi John, I'm preparing an order for motors/esc's & a few other items for an XR10 & wanted to check if you will have any more of the Rx bypass adapters available anytime soon? Just wanted to put one in on the order but it shows out of stock on them.

Hi John, I was curious what the turn around time is on waterproofing my Pro4/MMP? It's only been 2 weeks so I'm not complaining... just wondering if I should start our winter series with another combo or if I will get mine back in time. Thanks! |

We should be able to process it through within the next 48 hours. Its on the bench now. I am doing a multiple coat conformal process and we have to wait 24 hours between the layers.

John, What size bearings are used in your TrailMaster and TorqueMaster motors? I want to be sure I have some spares on hand. Thanks much! Fink |
