I know you sell batt packs on your site, but do you custom build packs?

JRH,

I am pretty sure I know the answer to this from searching but want to know for sure b4 I buy. I currently have a 55t integy and Tazer 12t, 645mg. I stepped up to the 7-cell 2/3a pack and now it will not go. I am thinking it's the small BEC. I want to upgrade to the Mamba Max and CC BEC. Would this solve my problems?

Thanks, your tech and support is great

Even just the BEC will solve the issue most likely. The MM would just be icing on the cake.

Hey John, I can't get my set up to work correctly. I've been trying to get it to work for the past 3 hours and I don't know what's going on.

I'm using a Mamba Max, CC BEC set to 6v output, 3 cell lipo, 2 5995 servos and XR3 radio and reciever.

The Mamba's red wire is removed and the CC BEC has the signal (yellow) wire removed. The only change I've made to the MM's programming is the Low Voltage Cutoff, which I set to 9.6 volts for the 3 cell lipo. The battery is charged and was showing 12.2 volts on the voltmeter. The output on the CC BEC is showing 5.95 volts on the voltmeter.

The problem is I can't get any power from the CC BEC to the Mamba Max, or even to the servos. The mamba turns on, does it's tone once, and just flashes all of the lights. The servos usually start to whine as soon as I plug in the BEC. The Mamba and servos work fine when I plug the battery straight to the Mamba (red wire put back in), but I don't have enough power for the servos to work properly. I've tried 3 recievers and they all do the same thing.

My previous setup used a 6 cell Nimh pack and the servos used a harness to power them straight from that pack, so I'm new to using the CC BEC for my super class rig.

Do you have any ideas of what I am doing wrong? I appreciate any help you can provide. This is probably the most frustrated I've been with electronics.

Be sure the MM is turned on, red wire pulled out. The CC BEC is powering your RX correct? Directly connected?

The MM is on, and the red wire pulled. Everything is plugged into the RX.
Should I just make a harness to bypass the RX and power the servos straight from the CC BEC? Rather than through the RX.

Ok here goes. Is it ok to run a 55 turn on a clod axle with a Mamba 25 on 11.1 volts with 5+" tires?

Probably not. Why don't you give it a shot

Temp gun every 5 seconds until you hit a stable temp.

Probably so. So you have no servo response but they get power? Sounds like the RX is faulty or doesn't like the CC BEC.

The mamba lights up but doesn't arm, and the servos aren't getting any power. It is possible the RX's are bad, because they are quite old (3-7 years old). I think I will just try another route to power everything. I thought plugging everything into the RX would be pretty simple way to go about it.

Try powering the RX with the ESC, and the servos with the BEC. The BEC may be jamming the RX with a PWM power signal, so the MM internal BEC will have a cleaner linear voltage.

JRH, i am planning on upgrading one of my super clods, i am currently running 2 mamba 25 and 2 og outrunners, i want something with little more power and wheelspeed, i am running 6 cells sub c packs, i wouldn't mind going back to brushed btw, i also would like it to be in the $280 area for both motors and esc's. Not really wanting to get another goat system as i currently have 2 nib for another project, lmk.

Yes yes, Looking in my inventory I realize this. I will search for the email and see if I can reply. Sorry for the confusion there, the tranny was sitting in with the axles.

Tell your cousin to stop touching your stuff.

The screws will allow the timing adjustments. If you look inside the can, there are the magnets and smaller spacers between the magnets. The black screws and brushes should line up between the magnets for zero timing. In relation to the can, this is normally in the middle of the largest vent holes on top. Be sure that if you can't get it perfect, that you at least have forward throttle faster than reverse. Also, watch out for heavy sparking with forward throttle. That indicates retarded timing, which is bad.

JRH,

I am going to get the mm and bec in the next couple of days. If I chose to have all the plugs soldered on, it comes ready to plug in correct? Do I let you know what settings I want, motor type, ect?

Thanks in advance.
