When im checking for proper motor timing do i thread need my end ball so it tight and back it off slowly once set then use the two screws to tightly hold it. Also could i use 2 AA batteries in series to get the 3v.

Also will you be getting any more 500 series pullers in.

What motor are you referring to?

500 pullers are probably done. I think all of the cans have been sold.

i want more power ,torque ,wheelspeed ,controll, reliability, and less heat .
am afraid i bought the wrong speed controll .is there a viable brushless option that isnt sensored ,or shud i bite it n trade or sell reuse esc .
and if so what combo would u sudgest and shud one wait for the new 21.5crawler?exleron/losi thing?

I'm sorry, could you rewrite that? I don't know what your issue is. You want something brushless I gather? Punctuation would help me read your post.

I would say sensored is your best bet. The Mamba Pro is the most flexible ESC avaialble currently. Novak seems to have the best selection of sensored crawler motors. A 17.5t would be a good start.

JRH,
I've got a 30t Torquemaster on the way and I'm trying to plan my pinion choice.

What's the rpm/volt on that motor?

I figured it would be somewhere in-between the 25t and 35t...obviously right? but was looking for a number instead of my wild guess.

Perhaps if you have any pinion suggestion, I'm running a sidewinder and 3s on a lcc.

Thanks in advance,
Bob

I have two of your 35turn Hand wound motors on an EnRoute berg. One (the front) starts before the rear. Is there an adjustment for this?

4PK, FX-R x 2, CC-BEC.

Default Outrunner brushless motor

I have one of the blue outrunner brushless motor's, looking for a esc to use, Its installed in a cco1 with a 16 tooth pinion. Is it too much for the little car? Thanks James

I don't have an exact number, but it would be about dead between the 25 and 35t on speed. I would start with a low pinion on the LCC and see how you like the wheelspeed. You can always gear faster if the motor heat is low enough, under 160f is totally safe.

This may be the FXRs kicking in at different times. Do you hear them start to push a bit differently, or do both start making noise and one axle just starts turning first? Both turn the same speed at full throttle?

Still working on them. The phase and sensor combination's involved with a high pole count motor are giving us trouble. I am starting work on some inrunners too, since they will be very fast to produce.

LIttle blue one, maybe a revolver 2 or waypoint? If you can snag a quark they are very smooth, but otherwise any CAstle controller will do a pretty good job of controlling it.

John, I just received your BR-XL ESC. I don't have any reverse. I have hooked it up via Castle Link to verify the mode. It is set to Forward to Brake To Reverse. When I hold Reverse the light flashes fast pulses red. Any ideas?

I change the profile to Proportional w/ Reverse Lockout and it works fine double tapping. Switched it back to Forward to Brake to Reverse....same boat....nothing. I did hook up a voltmeter to the motor output posts and there in no voltage coming out while reversing in that mode.

You use 72mhz for air, and 75 for ground.

In my store http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...&cat=23&page=1 The endbell will contain the parts you need, minus brushes.

What firmware does it show, 1.02? You are the second person to report this, and my guess is that they all contain the issue. I just tested one from the shelf and it is doing it too. Probably a firmware glitch, which was in 1.01 but was fixed in 1.02. Maybe there was a hardware change I am unaware of.

I will see if I can get this fixed today. The last batch of ESCs had the same firmware, but did not have this issue.

This thread is almost 99 pages now, daaaang.

For others reading, re-uploading the TM esc to 1.02 fixes the issue.

so we picked up a com lathe and started playing with it on some integy motors, before switching to the handwound.

the handwound had some fairly deep grooves which took a lot of passes to smooth off.

how much material is safe to remove? i didn't put a caliper to it, but i can.

and if worse comes to worse, got any 45-ish turn armatures laying around?

I've had my fxr for about 2 months now and has been running fine since day one in my mrc, I only run 2c lipos. The problem is I just switched servos (from an old hpi full size I had laying around to a hs645) and now it drove for about 10 feet then started to drive itself and wouldn't allow me to steer. When I got to it to unplug everything the lipo was warm and starting to get hotter and there was a slight burning smell from the esc. I left everything alone for for awhile I checked everything and all is well, nothing touching anything it shouldn't and the cap was still soldered on. I have no idea what happened, the servo I put on still worked I took it off my scaler where it ran fine. Any help would be great. The other electronics I have are stock tx/rx, and motor. Is my esc fried and should I send it back to tekin.

Thanks
Derek
