John Robert, A lot of people are running the puller motor in the edge chassis and it is fitting well. I'm almost sure the motor sits inside the chassis as well. Also, the warthog chassis by hardbodyz seems to work, there is a build thread on ehre where a guy has one installed, it's a big chassis anyway. Also, a lot of guys are running them in the blackjack builds, but you do have to trim the chassis for that.

Hey John,
I just tried to order a few 35 turn handwound motors, but it only showed one in stock. Do you have some in stock that aren't on the website or is that it for now? If you do have some, I need another one.

Default Building a Motor???

I was going to use a Reedy (12x2) Ti modified motor can and insert a 55 turn armature...any thoughts on performance, durability, or if it would even work? I am figuring that the upgraded can with ball bearings would help the motor be more efficient and produce an increase in run time...???

Thanks

I recommend a BEC for all serious crawlers.

For a motor a 55t through a 35t can't do you wrong.

I think you will be just fine, just make sure you shim the armature so that the comm is hitting the brushes properly. You may get more torque and drag brake from the better can.

Still working on the quote from the factory. I will have to buy 3,000 of them Still working on it though, rest assured. If you manage to wear through your brushes give me a call and I will take some out of my personal stash of motors to keep you running.

I have used them on 7.4v, but they heat up. For a few minutes at a comp you can push them, just dont let the case hit 140f.

Normally 6v

I'm running these exact servos at 6 volts with a Castle BEC and they've been quite happy so far. I've been testing prototypes so I'm abusing them way harder than normal, and they are just barely feeling warm to the touch when I get done. Of course I do have my endpoints set so as not to overstress the servo. A friend of mine doesn't have endpoint adjustment, and his towerpro was getting hot at 6 volts, so he adjusted his driving style and hasn't had another problem.

i have a problem about castle link program. i did try install castle link v3.11 (which previously installed v3.04), then connected with castle link kit and sidewinder. i got the usb connection status is green and the device connection is green too. but i haven't got any setting tab. just stuck in castle link picture, like picture in 'About' tab.
luckily i have backup from previous version v3.04...then i uninstall v3.11 back to v3.04 and have great result like before. i got problem too with the firmware update for sidewinder. i only got v1.16 and v1.17. which is the newer version is v1.18.
do you ever have problem like that? how can i get previous version? do you always update all castle products or not?

i have read on castle's site, but i didn't get clue for my problem.

Default Moving Link question

My fiance has an axial AX 10 scorpion and he has purchased an aftermarket plate ( I think it is a servo plate). In order to use this plate effectively he needs to move the links to the inside. Can someone tell me how this can be done or is the a link that goes to a step by step on doing so. A gentleman at the hobbie store said there was a step by step on rccrawler.com/techsupport, bt I have been looking for over 2 hours and have found nothing. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

With a berg or clod, and high turn brushed motors, does the freewheel setting on a Dig really do you much good? Doesnt seem too...

Is it better with brushless motors? In other words, is there less spinning resistance on a brushless motor that is not powered?

John got a weird one for ya...

mm been working perfectly since I bought it almost year ago. Pull out of my old comp rig. Put it in my new one. The only thing I did to it cut the stock switch off since I broke off the tab to on/off the switch and soldered the wires back together so closes the loop. When to turn on the rig and it power up and get steering and dig servo. But it will not arm itself and I get no throttle, everything else works though.

Hey JRH,

When are you going to have 35 turns back in stock? Also what motor do you recommend for a Slash with stock esc.
Thanks,
RPMJ

Default cobalt 454

will the 454 fit in an AX-10 with stock tranny? will it work with the Visionary Faberications motor plate? will i need your motor plate as well?

will 7 or 8 cell 1500 elite saddle packs work for power with a sidewinder?
