Not possible, the only thing the two ESCs share is the plastic case. You likely smoked some FETs, and probably killed the IC too. Reverse polarity incidents wreak havok on everything. Axial is your best contact for fixings. |

Do you have any idea when your ecs/motor combos will be available? |

I've noticed that both Torquemaster motors and BR-XL ESCs are available....any chance we see some Combo options available soon?

I'll start building combos on Monday of the sport and Expert motors. Pro motor combos will take a few more days to sort out since built inventory is lower.

I also wonder whether you will have a combo with Trailmaster motor back in stock as it seems a good choice for my Wraith. | |

27t arms were still in transit or customs last I checked. Trailmaster motors won't be put into combos yet, not sure if they will ever be built into combos. |

John, my combo order shows status "Completed". Does it mean it has been shipped? (although I haven't received any tracking number)

Hi John I successfully received & assembled the combo in my Wraith. I have a quick question - when ordering, I indicated that I need a reverse rotation motor for RTR Wraith and I wonder which one I actually received in my Combo. When I plugged the + cable from motor to white cable on the ESC, - cable from motor to black on ESC, forward throttle spins the wheels backwards (while the ESC light is green). I reversed the motor wires, now it spins correctly (ESC light is still green). But I wonder whether it is Ok to run it this way (I mean, motors are most likely designed to be more powerful in forward movement)? P.S. Throttle channel on the radio is not reversed. |

Sounds like your vehicle may have been overlooked in building. Pretty sure we just covered this in email, your motor was sent at zero timing so you can just swap the wires if you want. Otherwise look over my tech site for some pointers on setting timing.

Should'nt the motor be broken in on the bench for the rotation that it will be spinning regardless of timing? Or does it make no differance?

It makes a difference in the brush seating, as there is some play in the brush hood. Once the motor is in use in the reverse direction, the brush will wear into the new location and timing will retard about a degree. Takes about 12 thousand rotations of the motor with stock brushes and springs. Ideally we would want the correct rotation for break-in as well as a few degrees of motor timing advance to reduce arcing. All users are not comfortable enough to do this however, so keeping the motor at zero degrees and flipping the wires is a good enough solution for the non motor savvy. In this case it was a detail overlooked on the order, a mistake on my behalf. About half the motors we sell don't have any directions on vehicle or timing, so we just break them in CCW and zero timing. We haven't run across an issue doing this yet. It is much riskier to assume a rotation and put timing advance. |

Thanks, John! I'd like to say that both ESC & motor are of great quality. Staff at my nearest local hobby shop were also amazed when I came to buy some wires tol solder to motor and showed them this combo. A suggestion: castle creations connectors which you supply with this Combo are of bad batch, I suppose. You can't plug them in, they are too tight. I had to use a pair of pliers on the male 4mm bullet connector in order to squeeze it in. So I actually had to cut them and solder ordinary 4mm bullets. (I've read on different forums that this is a common problem with CC 4mm bullet connectors, so you might want to stay away from them) |

I just got word from engineering that they had a tight batch as well. Did you get a combo with the bullets on wires, or were the bullets loose?

Bullets were on ESC wires. Also, not only it's extremely tight to fit the provided CC male bullet in them, but they don't fit the standard 4mm male bullet (not deep enough, standard 4mm male connector can only go half way inside). So like I said, I just cut them off and soldered standard ones.
