What ever happened to your tow rig special? I'm in the process of building a 1:6th willys and my rooster crawler and 55t can't hang with it. ( it easily outweighs my LST2). Any other reccomendations?

I am in the process of bringing back out a few product lines. I am building the same truck you are (and it will be heavy), and have a few different options in the works.

How long of a motor can you use? What tranny are you using?

3 5/8 inch long would drop in right now with no further mods. i could make a 4 inch long motor work. i'm running an ax10 trans into another as a divorced transfer case then out to a pair of 2 inch extended ax10 axles with 40 series mud slingers on custom beadlocks.

Mr Holmes what about your torquemaster esc and a 35 turn tm sport motor the one combo you have on your site is a 55 turn, I am building a scaler out of a scorpion ax10 would like to run the esc but not the 55 turn motor. quess i am a cheapskate lol. I have an account on your site with one of these combos in it but don't want the 55 turn motor, would you be so kind as to let me know one way or another ?

Sport combo winds activated.

I'm searching for the perfect tow rig motor. You want mostly torque, and can you sacrifice low speed control?

Torque yes, as far as low speed control do you mean it will be lurching on start up? I think I can work with it. Thanks for going through the trouble! finally started a thread about the rig in question, hope the pics help!

Yep, some cogging on startup would be the only hitch with the motor I am thinking of. The Revolver Black I carry would have great grunt, but wouldn't totally overpower your axles and snap them. You could mate it with a mamba pro, so when a high torque sensored motor came out you would be ready.

two more questions: will the mamba pro be able to power two servo's for 4ws (possibly more for other contraptions) and if there was no issue of breakage would u still reccomend the revolver(i'm thinking about overkilling my own set of axles) thanks!

You will need an external BEC, and if you aren't worried about breakage you could use a longer outrunner or find a 550 brushless. A standard inrunner won't have the torque of an outrunner through.
