There’s another 2-3” but that’s it. I’ve got a new esc coming so I might buy a esc mount or make one that will sit around the t-case area, it’s like an “L” shaped bracket that mounts to the frame for an scx10. I’ll have to see once the esc comes in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Picked up some links and a 50% Novak sensored esc at the local hobby shop! It’s super easy, no cutting and they are pretty much exact links You will need Hot racing scx10 link set for the 12.3” wheel bass or 313mm. I removed all the red spacers from the rod ends to the link it self to get the correct length needed. The parts cost about $45. Part number is SCX313TL01 Front Rear (the picture showed the angled rod end, I actually swapped it for the straight so there was two) Finished with 4 link in rear Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Motor is mounted.... holy cow compared to its competition, it’s a breeze swapping motors on these things! Heck yeah for simplicity Have a 3D printed battery tray and esc mount coming so that’s is until I get that in. Should pair up nicely and be able to tuck/clean up wires a little better. As a LONG TIME HPI FAN-BOI I was very excited when the Venture was first announced. After a minor Snafu with my LHS, I finally received my Sandstorm edition and I am quite impressed with the ingenuity and features that HPI packed into the crawler. Like most crawlers, there are always gong to be shortcomings and updates we would like to see, but it definitely offers a lot out of the box. Update List: -Servo update -Modified Battery mount (re-purposed an SCX10.2 tray) -Trimmed and pushed in the F bumper -Added Light bar to the Bumper -Swapped Wheels/Tires -Swapped stock Radio/Rec for my Spektrum next up -Mount Headlights / Taillights and Light-bar on roof -Recessed Winch and Fairlead -Possible ESC upgrade (we'll see how stock goes) -Fenders/Interior -Metal Links -4Link I've shared pics on the HPI Venture FB page, I'll try and cross post my progress here. Went trailing in the creek behind the house with my oldest (5). Came back in and checked my FB and seen that ST Racing Concepts has released a few goodies for our rigs. All parts are MACHINED not cast like stock -Servo saver (alumn) a few diff colors -Diff covers (alumn) a few diff colors -Panhard mount (alumn) a few diff colors -Steering link mounts (alumn) a few diff colors And more coming soon! I know I will be placing an order ASAP.... will you? Check out their website. Here are a few of the photos I got chance to snap in between smiling ear from driving the rig with the new additions/modifications. And my favorite shot: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Got about 4 hours of trailing into with a local group. Truck handles great, with the exception it was 28* and we have been going strong with 15 days in the teens so the rocks were cold, tires were cold and not very grippy. The rear bumper gets in the way of about everything... now it looks like I will be switching up bumpers or trying to trim this one and or raising is up (we’ll see) Not wanting to side hill very much, so low low weight is definitely a must. Going to get some heavy beadlock wheels, and brass spring cups. That’s until someone out there comes up with some beef tubes, or something other than the brass rotors, and beef patties. For a first run it did very well. Hit all the same spots that I have with other rigs and only missed a few. The body took a few really hard hits and so far no cracks, mirrors are intact. I've found removing the spare made a huge difference with side hills and hang ups, really all around performance. I'm also waiting for upgrades in form of weight down low but am happy to see items coming out. Wish they're was more on the handling then the looks but it's a start. Keep up the good work. Bumper updates: Started by taking off the spare tire.... lord that rear bumper is huggggeee. Not a huge fan . Looks bulky and plus the rear body the factory cuts look kinda out of place now that they are showing. So I found another bumper laying around. From a trail finder (the plastic bumper). Cut the ends off of it since the venture back end is not squared off it’s more rounded and that looked off to me. Little snip here and there and this is the final product. IMO it’s a 100x better. Shouldn’t have any hang ups and the weight should be a little lower now Looks like I will be ordering some slw type wheels with the brass rotors to use as weights. For now this will work! I’m itching to get the interior from the scale Kings to get started on that. I know I could use a proline interior like most, but I’ve done that too many times. I’m ready to do a full blown scale interior! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks man! I did remove the spare put on the trail and it helped with weight, but the rear end was still dragging on the steep inclines and that was causing me not to be able to pull the lines like I should be able to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Re: The venture is here! I’m becoming a believer in them. They were gripping on some rocks I wouldn’t have guessed they would. Little small but if you pick the lines you can easily crawl with them. I’m not used to small 1.9s mine are usually 4.75. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
