So far I think the hpi is going to give axial a good strong run pushing the industry to rethink to stay on top. I find it to be a very capable little truck and the quality of the plastic is up there. Of course it's new and being snowy it's hard to get a good run but as of now it's my go to truck for fun all around excitement.

I feel you, good to hear.

I hope the aftermarket jumps on this one. I hesitate to buy it because of the support the last few Hpi's I owned had.

I just picked up the new Scx10 II rtr. (Excuse) I need to stop wearing out my wifes scx10...

Like I need another transmitter, lol. I think it will turn into my small tire truck, I have a set of 4, 4.3 tsl's mounted on axial beadlocks, ready to go. But as you said, the snow is making it tough to evaluate performance.

I was going to hold out and make sure hpi was going to back it with Atleast stock parts support but my wife I guess thought I needed it.. lol
Still not sure what direction I want to go with it cause I'm unsure how this season will be. Lots of scale comps north and west of us I would like to attend but then again I seemed to enjoy trailing more. Keeping it small tire brings a whole new world but also can be annoying in some areas I've explored.
Luckily I have time and will keep enjoying till I figure it out.. lol

I find little tires are a mindset...

I find accessorys make or break a truck. A massive shovel for a bumper, ala Stock cherokee can definetly break the deal.

Also not expecting to much, and changing driving habits. Learning how to put a small tired truck where the big tires blows people away, and when you go back to bigger tires, you find what used to be challenging is not anymore.

I am still working on my 650 in the back, but I have all three classes covered.... plus Ultra 4 lol

I find I drive the smaller tire trucks more.

Actually got off before dark so I did a quick run since snow is melting off. Actually got to crawl on my rocks some and see how she handled, gave me a better perspective. Love this little truck.

Postal delivery. Look good quality for the price. New tires should be in tomorrow and hopefully I can get mounted for a test this weekend.

They look so good, I can't wait to try them out. Feel pretty sticky and I'm sure after a few runs they'll wake up more.

Today's adventure started with trying to find a rock location. Seems everyone else had the same idea so I ended up heading up the mountain. With crap for conditions it made for a basic snow bash till I decided to navigate to the cliff. With freezing rain on the snow it made it a huge challenge just to stay moving. Fun conquering the terrain for a epic feeling of achievement.
Tried busting snow off rock bluff so I could climb but in doing so I just made it harder with holes from boots, so staged rock bluff pic for the win.

About ready to toss these Rock Beasts.. cant seem to get them mounted on these China BL.
But it's been almost a year since I've messed with this truck and I'm glad to see a few more builds and parts, not as many as I would have thought but hey I'm glad not many know how bad ass this truck is.
Got my universals and am waiting for beeftubes and a few other pieces to refresh my rig. Hoping to bring this rig to the top of the trail rig gang and get as many exploratory miles this year as I can.

Alright, got them mounted after a nice tip from a member. Very happy with the over all look but may have to do some fender trimming once I get a chance to test.
Waiting on some more parts before I install universal's, hopefully next week.

A few things finally showed up so I took some time to make changes to my truck. Very excited to get to personalize it with a new body. Murdered out but still waiting for things to get figured out so this is as it sits today.
To help with making it a trail pounder I beefed up the front axle with tubes and also got better steering with cvd's. Both made a huge difference today in my test course of snow.

Body is now complete. Made my rear mount cargo box to help agents with supplies they need. Plunty of storage space to help organize items they come across while apprehending illegals.

Already found a pack of white powder substance from first outing.

Since installing my new bow house skid I had to make a new mount for my running gear cause the skid lifted the trans higher which I'm not sure I'm a fan of. I'm sure it's better then the hang on everything lump the stock has but still..

anyways while making trey I decided to play around with bumper as the stock just didnt work with this body. Need to test before finishing but I'm liking how it sits as of now.

I have the same skid from Bow House. Will see how it does as building from a kit I'm not really changing anything.

It's doing to be an improve over the hang up of the stock but it does raise the trans which also changes the angle of the shafts. I feel like my axle needs to be clocked a little form it but I'll have to take a closer look this coming weekend when I'm snowed in. ;)

The truck looks great! I see you are a big fan of lots of tires like me!

The FPV also looks fun.

Great crawling area and beautiful photos!

LOL! I try not to be but I'm always interested of how the other side of the fence is..
FPV is a lot of fun and lets you stay warm. Still need to get out on more rocks as it's a weird feeling not being able to see your line as well.
I am pretty lucky to live in the rocky mountains but I'm not a fan in the winter as I get older..
Thanks for checking in.

When you get a chance can you take some close ups of the pinion angles after switching to the bowhouse skid. Do they look like they’re angered enough to create potential binding or accelerated wear and tear?
