After this weeks storms I decided to take today off as a snow day and relax with some building and yt videos.
Started my inner fenders.

Not the best but definitely work. Still need to finish them but want to wait till I can test before painting.

Install CB for communication when out in the backcountry looking for runners. Should give good range with the tight coil and longer shaft. ;)

I'm running HR links so this could make a difference in others. All look good and no issues with binding. My rear at axle is the tightest angle but I dont think it's even bad. If I do find issues I will just add a spacer in link to clock it a hair but I dont see it needing it.
Pic is of rear. If anyone wants more I can get them tomorrow just let me know what you want.

Thanks! I’m using the Crawler Central links on mine. I suppose if the pinion angle is questionable I could “loosen” the upper rod ends to clock the axle

It's worth the extra clearance and no hang up on the skid, easy adjustment if even needed.

Agreed. The only criticism I had last weekend when taking my Venture out for the first time was the binding caused by the center skid. I’m running a fairly small tire so it was very noticeable.

Got a few more things done to my truck.
Tow rope is always nice when new.

You have to be prepared when running the back roads.

Installed some magnets under my bed box to hold my clips and also holds the tow rope hooks when running. Makes it nice and quick for when needing it.

Still waiting for the weather to clear so I can test my inner fenders and tear bumper before finishing them but I'm happy how all has came together on this rig.

Been a few months since I've touched my truck but today I mounted some tires and plan to do a run Saturday with it. In my excitement Icheck a few sites and noticed a shortage of parts. Did HPI go under? Wouldn't mind buying some parts but I cant seem to find much on gears.. Your thoughts.?!

Last I heard, HPI had been purchased by a European company. A few more parts (CVDs) did show up at RPP and they even had some more builder's kits in stock, but that seemed to be about it. I don't think they're back to having a full line of Venture parts available yet.

Seems like HPI has been behind the ball since the FJ came out, the reason I shelfed it. I think it's an awesome trail truck and is fun to drive but I worry about using and something happening and not able to get parts. I see a few sites have different things but nothing to get excited about.

Saturday I will be using it on a trail climb up to our M. It's steep and conditions will be wet and muddy with temps in the 50's. I'm excited to see how well it holds up to the Tutu challenge.
