Default Upgrading wheels for venture

Is anyone here proficient in style/color coordination or in photoshopping images? I want to upgrade my Ventures wheels and trying to figure out what color wheels will look best on it. The truck is gunnetal in color. I'm thinking of using stock tires or pit bull rockbeast. If anyone can post pics that would be great.

Although it's not gun metal you get the idea.

It would look killer matching the white on the roof with the Gmade SR02 Steelies and maybe wrap them in the shorter class 1 Hyrax tires - 4.2" tall... or maybe even the PB PBX tires.

GoNitro has them cheap and you can use code YEAREND for an additional 10% off right now.

Thanks Scojac.......i may also run proline bfg a/t. The black stock wheels look OK, but I want more weight down low and some subtle bling. Gunmetal is a hard color to accent. At least for me.

I'm loving the look of my axial bl with Hyrax class 1 tires. Matches up pretty good to the gun metal.

What do you guys think will look best with gunmetal....vanquish with orange to accent HPI logo or a all black vanquish bead lock? I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on some. Thanks in advance!

Black looks good with that dark gray.

Edit: Every SAS FJ cruiser I just looked at had black wheels, lol.

So the final verdict on color wheels is black wheels then?

OK for those who want to know what the tires/wheels and setup is......

(be prepared to spend serious coin like I just did for this setup)

Proline pro-forge faultline 1.9" gunmetal wheels wrapped in Pit bull rockbeast tires. Now here's where it gets slightly complicated. The hubs I got are vanquish 350slw. With the caps the track width gets pushed out further. This increases the track width too much. So I'm trying to decide if I'm going to return the 350slw hubs in favor of 225slw hubs and run the caps. Everything bolted up with no issues. Plenty of clearance to rodends and knuckle. Tell me what y'all think! Enjoy! Now I'm on to looking into my next set of mods......

Looks good! I think that is the first time I have actually seen the Pro-line aluminum wheels on a truck on here.

Outstanding choice of wheel/tire for your new Venture. They look perfect with your gunmetal!

Those look really nice on there, but hella expensive.

The bronze SSD Assassins would have been nice on there too. and 1/2 the price.

If the wheel track is too wide for your liking I'd return the VP hubs and check out the compatable ones from SSD, available in 0mm offset, 3mm offset and 6mm offset and that also offer up some cool scale points because of the brake rotors.
All size hubs are $11.99 pr.

Looking at your pic it doesn’t look like you have room to go to 225 hubs, the steering rod ends are very close to the wheel already. A clamshell style beadlock wheel like a ssd steel wheel that has no inner beadlock ring would be a better option if you want to keep the same track width as stock.

I think 225 with the XD center hub would have fit with about the same room as I currently have. The XD hub adds .150 of more back spacing. I have a couple of mm spacing between the tire and the rod end.

I would have loved to go with SSD wheels however, I was concerned about backspacing. Depending on which wheel you go with they have different offset spacing. (I know nothing about measurements of backpacking) I will say this that SSD was one of the first brands I did look at. I got those wheels and stuff from my not so local hobby shop and they don't sell SSD. I did look at RPP hobby at their wheels. I looked at proline, vanquish, GearHead, and rc4wd wheels. I kid you not it took me like a week to try to decide on what I wanted and the look I was going for. I almost pulled the trigger on some black vanquish wheels. But opted to go this route. I will say pro-line is very proud of these wheels by what they are pricing them at. I will say the quality is top notch tho.
