I have been in touch with Thad Garner, he's the designer of the venture. I asked him some questions and some of those questions were about upgrade parts. The upgrade parts he told me would be out soon. As to a time frame of when, I didn't ask. So we are going to have to sit back and wait. I just thought I'd post this for info if anyone was wondering.

The most important thing are the axle shaft, wich is a big minus. And as far as i could see,noc cvd will fit,so that's an isue with steering angle.

| ![]() You can press the balls out of the Traxxas ends and use the balls from your HPI links quite easily, that's what did. I've made both aluminum and stainless steel links for my Venture that way..

I emailed SSD and they told me their Venture stuff is in the works but they just started so it will be a few months. CVD's are on their list of "stuff".

What's the likelihood of making an XR/Wraith universal fit? I'm happy to grind away material where I need to.

To answer my own question, it looks like someone had success with modifying an AR44 Universal to fit according to the devil cheese (QuesoDelDiablo) Facebook group. This is what I would rather do than a CVD, personally.

Hey folks - thinking of a Venture myself as next build - noticed that Asiatees are stocking GPM made upgrade parts - https://www.asiatees.com/model?brand...it=80&stat=all - no CVD's in there though - just hubs, shock mounts etc. And the range of 3d printed stuff is growing as well but as per others still not found wheel wells. Nice faux engine/motor cover at shapeways but £85 is a bit steep for me.

This was the only thing I found about the inner wheel wells. GPM and STRC make some upgrades for the truck. https://www.bigsquidrc.com/hpi-racin...heel-well-set/ As far as CVD's go...everyone has been modding either Ascender or AR44 ones to fit. Ascender ones seem a touch easier than the AR44's from what I have read. I think the aftermarket is kinda playing it safe with the Venture. It took HPI years to get this to market and the hype kinda fell off over that time. IMO it is still a great truck and I do love it. Just more careful when driving it as HPI has a track record of not keeping replacement parts in stock lol. |

It wouldn’t be so bad to mod for the CVD’s if you didn’t have to cut up your brand new ssd chubs and brass knuckles to make the ascender CVD’s fit.

I genuinely admire the Venture platform, and do anticipate some quality CVD's, but if they don't come out in the next few months, I may sell mine, because I could use the shelf space. Lack of CVD's isn't keeping me from enjoying it, but I don't want to get stuck with an RC that could potentially end up losing all consumer interest, in the US, at least. On the other hand, I see the Venture showing up in social media more frequently, now that the season is in full swing. It would be prudent for HPI to release those CVD's very soon, while popularity is growing, because just about every other quality RTR scale 4x4 platform, currently on the market, has better steering out of the box, and that's an important feature. I'm also of the tribe that does not wish to grind up and modify other brand CVD's. Just not worth it, to me.
