Upgrades order - Aug 2018

I'd like to establish a priority-ordered list of upgrades to build up the Venture based on widely agreed-upon positions now that this model has been out for a while and the aftermarket is starting to get better.

Please let me know what you think of this order:

1. Servo
2. Beadlock wheels and good compound tires
3. Convert to 2S LiPO w/ XT60
4. CVD shafts
5. SSD C Hubs
6. SSD knuckles
7. Suspension links

In addition to any critiques of the above list, my questions as someone brand new to this hobby would be:

• What CVDs are people using? So far all I could find were these: https://www.jteamhobbies.com/collect...ts/ven037sa-bk
• Should I prioritize clearance using bent aluminum links or prioritize low unsprung weight by using stainless straight links?

#1 priority is the servo. Get a real one on there ASAP and it will make it much more enjoyable.

Nobody makes CVD's for the Venture yet. Not even HPI. The link you posted is for driveshafts.

The stock ESC will handle 2S lipos but has a crappy white Tamiya connector. Get rid of the connector at least ASAP.

The stock steering has built in stops on the knuckles to, I assume, protect the dogbones. Get rid of those too. You can grind them off with a dremel or just get some brass/Al bits.

A transmitter with adjustable endpoints for the servo will make the steering tolerable.

Servo is a must, that's for sure.If you are changing to a Li-Po, go 3S.For the tires there is a variety of options to choose from.STRC brass hubs combined with SSD knuckles, is your way to go.Links made out of brass, either do them at home, or purchase some.The stock shafts are perfect, no need for metal ones
