I'd like to establish a priority-ordered list of upgrades to build up the Venture based on widely agreed-upon positions now that this model has been out for a while and the aftermarket is starting to get better. Please let me know what you think of this order:

#1 priority is the servo. Get a real one on there ASAP and it will make it much more enjoyable. Nobody makes CVD's for the Venture yet. Not even HPI. The link you posted is for driveshafts. The stock ESC will handle 2S lipos but has a crappy white Tamiya connector. Get rid of the connector at least ASAP. The stock steering has built in stops on the knuckles to, I assume, protect the dogbones. Get rid of those too. You can grind them off with a dremel or just get some brass/Al bits. A transmitter with adjustable endpoints for the servo will make the steering tolerable. |
