Picked up a used grey HPI Venture today! Excited to see what it can do.

Bone stock accept the battery connection.

Any suggestions on the first upgrades?

Nice! I also picked one up from eBay with the coupon discounts. I should be getting it in next week.

I'm waiting for HPI to release their factory upgrade CVD's, links, and fender wells.

Welcome to the group! Great truck. As for upgrades, mine has an aftermarket lower center of gravity battery tray, metal links throughout, upgraded servo, and different tires and wheels. As it sits, it’s amazing! By far my favorite crawler which is why I bought another for my daughter lol. I’ve invested hundreds more into scx10’s and did not enjoy them this much.

That’s good to hear. Sounds like a really good vehicle out of the gate! I have heard/watched a lot of complaints about its tires and servo...guess they will be first.

I was especially excited to see the forward motor location...it looks very stable in all the crawl videos I’ve seen. Although it does look to need a little ground clearance? Maybe the tire upgrade?
