Thanks. It's basically the same as the stock except to shock mount holes are further forward and I'm going to tidy it up once i have sorted out the body mounts.

The Pit Bull Rock Beasts turned up at last. They are a nice and sticky so should work well for the terrain I drive in. They are a bit wider than the Swamper copies I had on the black Gmade wheels. Getting them on the White Gmades was a bit awkward due to the foams being so wide. Eventually I trimmed a chamfer on the inside of the inner foam and this helped. When tightening up, I had to make sure the bead sat in properly. I used M2.5 nyloc nuts on the back of the wheels as I have had some bolts loosen off on previous Gmade wheels.

Rock Beasts are great tires! They are Pitbull's best tires if you ask me.

Yeah, I did a bit of reading up on them .The best tyres I have at the moment is Gmade 1904's They are even better then the Deep Woods I have. They (Pit Bulls) feel sticky, and more of a square profile like the 1904's. Obviously smaller diameter, but that's what I wanted on this truck. As usual no store in the UK stocks them, so rcmart came to the rescue yet again.

Weight of all 4 on wheels is 839 grams.

Just weighed it with body and it's 3.144kg or 6Lbs 14 oz. That with no esc, rx, or battery. Still not done body mounts yet.

Got the body mounted on magnets. THe ride height is ok, but need to improve the magnets as they are weak. I have found some 15mm x 3m with a countersunk hole which will make it stronger and also easier to fit.

I cut down the front mounts to fix magnets on and simply glued the rear magnets on top of the shock mounts. These magnets are 10mm diameter, 2mm thick. I still have to make a way to stop the body sliding, but will wait until the bigger magnets arrive. Hope you all 'like' it.

Body with magnet mounts.

I've been mentioning this mounting method a lot lately but a video would explain it a lot better. The basic idea is that the body post in the middle stops any sliding.

Truck looks good! I love the idea of magnets but they just never seem to hold up in a roll for me no matter how strong I've went. I've had better luck with making plates and using Velcro.

Good video. The only thing I'm not doing is any holes in the body. Also the rear magnets are on top of the shock mounts I made up.when the bigger magnets get here I will set them up with a 3mm screw poking through which should align them. Good idea with the tape to stop the adhesive sticking. I used 2 part epoxy and that seems pretty strong.

Holes in the body are not part of this mod, he just had an RTR body with the holes already poked in it.

Epoxy is a great adhesive but E6000 or shoe goo does win on flexibility which might prevent it from breaking loose from shock or impacts. You might consider switching to a more flexible glue for the body side magnets.

Thanks. I have shoe goo, so will try that. I'm waiting for the larger magnets to turn up and also the wheel well kit. Once they are here I can get on with it. The weather has been lousy here recently, so even though I want to get out it's too wet and windy.

The wheel well kit turned up yesterday. Started by cutting out the centre slots.

There is a warning note with this kit as some of the markings for the rear body posts are in wrong position. However I'm not too bothered as that only affects the rear and my build is obviously different.

I decided the battery tray was going to be too high and not fit under the bed.

I will make my own tray up or modify the stock tray to fit behind the transfer box.

It's 78mm wide and I found some Vaterra Ascender links and spacers in my parts pile.
These will be temporary until I make up a brace out of delrin sometime.

With the well kit on the chassis. It was then that I found out I had put the front shock towers on the wrong side.

More to come, but need a break. ( no no no no no! they say).

Made up a rear chassis brace out of delrin and also modified the rear shock mounts, giving them a slope on the rear end just because it looks better. (doesn't go any faster (or slower)).

Still fiddling round with the wheel well kit. Got to make it fit at the rear now and hopefully new magnets come soon. They are 15mm x 3mm and have a hole in the centree.

That's a great setup you have going on there. I really like the looks of it

Thanks. It's going to work well with the body I have. Almost there with that. Some paint and will sort the electrics out soon. Hoping for a run mid week as the weather gets drier.

Also got to figure out a battry tray. I have seen the Bow House one, but can make something up to fit my 2250mah batteries and will be perfect for me.

Great looking build. Really enjoyed reading it. Been thinking about getting a Venture sometime in th near future. If I get another crawler it will be a Venture.

Thanks wyd. I wanted one when they first came out, but was too busy playing with my Ascender's. They are keepers, and this SBK is an addition to the family.

Got started on the battery tray yesterday. Made a mount to fit onto the Bow House skid and go over the driveshaft. Drilled out the 2 rear skid mount holes and then longer screws threaded into to legs on the mount. 3mm abs tray will fit onto this and also some posts from the slider mounts.

Also the 15 x 3mm drilled magnets I ordered came today. Hopefully I get this set up soon and finish the body mounting off.
