There's only 1 fault with he venture other than the servo (lol) and I find that's it's overall weight, it's so light I find you lose 'feel through the controller. Still by far one of the best scaler trail trucks around.

Yeah my Land Rover Ascender is pretty light at 6Lbs, while my K10 Ascender wieghs about 8 1/2 Lbs. I like the way they drive differently though.

Well the body, motor and bumper turned up today. no news on the SBK yet. The body is great quality. The plastic is around 3mm thick, so hopefully will take a bit of knock ok.

Those body's are nice but heavy, I have one on my SCX and am thinking about swapping it out for this season, Altho the yota is smaller so may not be as bad as the Cherokee. Looking forward to you getting your build rolling once the kit shows..

Thanks. This is the first build I have done with a hard body, so will be something new for me. I might look at getting a lexan body sometime just if I find the weight doesn't help driving.

I really like that hard body

On a side note after long conversations with distributors they no longer have a ETA from HPI which sucks. Their best guess was a week to late March
I hope this isn't the case in late March

Well that sucks. I can wait, but all the UK dealers I spoke to said mid February. They did say they was a high demand, so maybe Hpi are getting more stock sorted.

Yeah, seems strange for UK to get something earlier than USA as the market is so much smaller. Might be a customs, distribution problem maybe. Chance for you guys to blame a certain person in a high place perhaps?

Decided to part assemble the body to see how I want to paint it and if there are any issues.

Screw kit is labelled with screw sizes and also numbered for easy finding.

Joining the body to cab was fiddly. M3 x 8 mm screws and nuts. I replaced the kit ones with stainless and also washers to spread load on the screw holes. Had to ream out the screw holes as they were a tight fit.

Grill was on a sprue, so needed a touch of sanding, but isn't in a noticeable spot anyway.

Body and front section don't line up all that well. Only 1 screw each side and that's up high. Might try to drill and pin it to line it up.

These trims are soft rubber. I expect they will rip off in the first tumble. M2 x 6mm screws hold them on.

The front is a slightly diiferent white to the rest of the body. Was hoping to minimize the amount of painting, but this will stand out.

Well the box is open. Nicely bagged and good manual. Time for some reading.

Bag A. Front axle parts. Good to see all the metal parts. Plastics also good quality. A plus is the spare parts bag. Good idea that. An evening just to build these I reckon.

The only criticism so far is the print in the manual is a bit small for my old eyes. If there is a pdf of it I might get that
