Default How about a Venture with Sawback body?

Sorry, haven’t done it, yet, but I’m thinking about it, because I want a Willys Jeep body, but don’t need another full chassis, and the Venture would probably provide an easy mount. I wish I could buy that RTR Military Sawback body, but it looks like I’ll have to paint up a clear one.

Sounds good to me. The Venture is limited in its bumper options though.

True, but there are some adapters that will allow you to mount a standard Axial bumper (front post hole type?).

I was half expecting you to persuade me to just get a Sawback kit. I joined a Sawback group on Facebook, made a comment about disappointment with the price of the RTR Military Sawback (on what I considered an outdated platform), and got barked at by quite a few guys. Goodness...can't say anything negative about a platform on a brand/model-dedicated FB group without being jeered at.

You don't already have a Sawback? Traitor!

The Sawback was never cheap, but I see what you mean.

I wanted one for awhile, mostly during the first few years it was out, but then as better platforms came out I sorta forgot about it. It seemed that most guys who liked it were 1:1 pickup truck owners & enthusiasts, and liked the scale realism provided by the leaf springs. I never owned a truck in my life, so I didn't see a need to meddle with it, and have been content with 4-linkers.

However, I still want a Willys Jeep lexan body and Gmade is the only one I've ever known to exist, and I now have several chassis that are either already at the correct wheelbase (my recent 10.2 Dingo build, and Ascender K10), or can be adjusted fairly easy(Venture). Plus, the wife would get flustered if another full kit showed up, unless I get rid of some, first. I had a Traxxas Skully clear body show up a couple weeks ago, and she brought it into the kitchen and shook it at me with quite the infuriated expression. LOL!
