| 3D printed parts for the Venture database
I thought it might be nice to have a list of 3D printed parts available for the Venture. I was thinking maybe limit this to just free files but I suppose adding in stuff thats not free would be just as helpful so go for it. I just put a Rear Crossmember up on thingiverse, anyone can download and print it. 2 versions one basic the other is beefed up a bit. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3506581 Max Gear Down Motor Mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3569491 Venture Max Gear down Motor Mount User Warmage on Thingiverse has a few rear crossmembers too as well as a battery tray. Rear crossmember https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2948839 Rear crossmember https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2790470 Battery tray (needs some trimming to work with BowHouse skid to clear the driveshaft and transfer case) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2942916 also a high clearance rear bumper for the FJ https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2925486 Bumper/winch mount (not servo winch) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2899413 SCX10.2 Bumper Quote: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3608300 Rear shock towers with narrow body mounts made for the Proline Power Wagon body. I've lowered the mount by 1 hole and moved them inwards by about 7mm. You will need to cut up the bed to clear the shocks and shock towers and the stock body mount holes are right near the edge of this cutout so I've moved them inwards to retain more strength. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3608348 Thats just what came up on thingiverse, please feel free to add to this list or share your own parts if you have some. Very nice idea. I like the rear braces and battery tray. I assume you need an account to see the other links. After that I need to figure out how or where to print some of these parts.

You should be able to view and download all of the Thingiverse items without being signed in. I just double checked and I can view and download when logged out. Links are all working for me. One thing it might be is just the site being slow to respond, its pretty bad sometimes. It will often take a refresh to get some pages to load.

So the gears will show up before the pictures have loaded so it might be loading super slowly, try refreshing the page to see if it helps. Sometimes pages will just stall and not fully load. You may be able to find someone local to you who offers prints, thats becoming a lot more common.

Nice, thanks for putting together this thread. I've been downloading whatever I can off thingiverse for the day I finally pony up for a printer.

Good idea! I use the battery tray and crossmember from Warmage on mine as well as the high clearance bumper. Works really well |

Great idea! This print database should exist for every RC.

I made some servo shims to compensate for deleting the the servo saver, if I can ever make time to log in and upload them I'll post a link for them in here.

Ok I guess I forgot or never hear the spacing was the same for the SCX10.2 bumpers. That could open up a ton more options for printable bumpers

| Re: 3D printed parts for the Venture database That is not correct. I just checked me Axial stock mount and a Traxxashit mount and the stock HPI bumper will NOT fit in them. The post spacing on HPI narrow compared to the other 2

Weird. I didn't make any modifications. Just printed it and it fit perfectly. Had to grind a half inch off the mounts so it would slide all the way back but the spacing was perfect.

Venture on top SCX10.2 on bottom scx10.2 looks to be 43mm Venture is 40mm They are different But I suppose someone might come up with a adapter that uses the Axial spacing for use on the Venture. Last edited by HumboldtEF; 03-26-2019 at 08:46 PM. |

Dude wasn't very precise with his mounting post diameter. The posts on the bumper are a little smaller in diameter than those in the pic. Looks like they would rub the inside of the Axial holes whereas they rub the outside of the HPI holes. Slides all the way in and doesn't snap the pegs off though so it works for me. Gonna use ABS next time now that the weather has warmed up a bit and I can move the printer out to the garage. Good to know about the RC4WD mounts. |
