Hi and welcome. Have some fun with your Venture. I have built an SBK. but not found much time recently to drive it. It is great quality and hopefullly a buyer has been found for HPI.

While the potential of owning a discontinued model does suck, I don't see myself parting with my Venture. I've done a lot of custom work to it, and maybe that's one reason why I'm so loathe to separate from it. But in about 1.5 years of owning it, I've never broken anything on it. I've probably put 30-40 battery packs through it, and nothing has failed. Some of those batteries were spent bouncing both axles up and over rocks, and tree roots too. So I don't see parts availability being a concern, unless you're looking for upgrade parts. Those have been hard to chase down. As you alluded to as well, should parts dry up and you break something, that's part of the fun. Making some random part from your bin or something from another vehicle work. My Venture has been a lot of fun to drive and build, and I'm still glad to have gotten one. |
