Default Venture Interior

Hey HPI Venture Folks -

I just ordered an FJ body for my TRX-4. Looking for ideas of what's been tried and tested for interiors? In the past, I've used Wraith Spawn interiors, Dinky RC interiors, etc. But, I figured I'd post here and see who has had good success and with what. Thanks!

Default Venture Interior

I used a cheapo interior from eBay.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F392302023318

Fits pretty well after some trimming. I followed this video as a guide

These are the results I got. I opted to spray the bottom of it with plastidip so it wouldn’t be as visible.

Hey Nate - I looked at the PL interiors as well. I do like the fitment I saw above in jason’s rig, so just snagged it.

Just a couple quick shots. I still need to do interior, lighting, etc. But, the magnetic mount set up is super clean! I did shoot all the black trim - rocker panels, fender flares with bedliner. Nice 1:1 look. I also shot the hood in satin black.

The new Proline Krawlers are huge though. I may not run them on this body. I'd have to trim the fender wells out to prevent rubbing, and I wanted to keep this body really scale. I'll probably run my Pitbulls or the Canyon Trails.

Nice job. That body looks just like my Sandstorm stock body looked before I hacked it to pieces.

I look forward to seeing it with an interior.

Thanks Fallen. I've got a few hacked bodies myself. Definitely trying to keep this one clean and scale looking. Probably use it mostly for trailing and light crawling. I've got a few other bodies I can throw on to beat up on technical rocks.

Made a bit more progress on the FJ bodied TRX. Hella light bar installed, new stinger and winch, and I threw some more scale wheels & tires on. (I'll probably just use this set up for trailing and stick to the Pitbulls or Krawlers for rock duty).

Anyway, I've got the interior and my driver figure. The interior came in black, but the seats were a hideous yellow. So, I did some painstaking masking and shot them in a beige like the body. Still need to measure and mark-up the cut out area for the rear body posts, and get some paint and detailing on my driver.

Your Venture body looks rad with the light bar and bumper. That wheel/tire collection in the background looks even nicer!

Thanks Fallen. Yeah, there’s quite a few sets there. (Some are Short Course). What’s crazy is there are more under the work bench.

Got the driver painted and the interior installed. He's sitting a tad high in there - I probably could have ground a bit more material off his fat a--! But, he looks pretty good and adds to the scale dimension I was going for with this body. He's also swigg'n a road pop since he's just on the trail! Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you, Dirty Frank!

I've used the Tamiya ones in my builds, including this one. There like $7-8 on Ebay. They're not full figure, so they work well with shallow interiors.

Thanks. I suggest painting the inside of the body too if you made yourself interior removable. It bugged me that the sunlight bleeds in through the white roof so I masked off all the windows and hit the inside with some black plastidip

Funny you should say that. That's exactly what I was thinking when I installed the interior today. I did shoot the lower inner area's black when I did the flares and rockers. The white on the roof was sprayed so thin from HPI though, that if you hold it up to the light, you can actually see some of the black overspray on the underside. I think I'm gonna mask from the top side of the doors down, then shoot from their up in beige.

Reference photos from before and after I painted mine so you can see the difference

Finally added the HPI inner fender set recently and am excited to see what it looks like on the trails.
