i just got a new hpi venture FJ. however, im sure as everyone has seen, the tires rub on the body. are there tires that are slightly smaller that doesnt rub against the body? i wont cut the body because i am more interested in the scale. I would prefer to keep the size as close to it is now, but not rubbing. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks miles |

You can step down a 4.19 size tire and it should clear fine depending on what wheels/offset you go with.

The stock tires are 4.19" OD, and the only 1.9 tires I've used that are smaller are the RC4WD Dirt Grabbers. They're 3.85" OD and I really like them. I also use the RC4WD Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs and they clear the fenders with no rubbing. Last edited by Fallen; 03-07-2020 at 11:54 PM. |

I run proline class 1 hyrax with SSD contender wheels. The front needed the brake rotors to clear and they barely rub in full lock full stuff situations

| ![]() Stock tires according to HPI are 109m/4.29 tall. So the 4.19's aren't much smaller, but do clear better on the body.

Man I just gone up a little in size, struggling a bit over rough stuff due to tyre size.

i decided to trim the body slightly. i needed to cut just a tiny bit. it really helped a lot. if i do full turn on full shock it would still hit. however, im not running on large rocks or anything like that, so its all good. i hate the idea of spending 100+ dollars on tires and rims when the stock ones work just fine for what im doing. i really love the truck, and its much quieter now |

| ![]() Thanks for clearing that up. I don't remember where I read they are 4.19, but whatever. That explains why my 4.19 Wranglers didn't rub, but the stock tires did. I assumed it had to do with tire width or maybe wheel offset.
