My new build up is going to be just to show the king is not dead. RC rock crawling was home brewed not box made and that's what drew me to them.

They are good for a track fix but I made newer mounts out of 1/4 inch c-channel that's used for framing. I'll post a picture here soon.

Since I'm not in to comp crawling anymore since I would have to drive 200 miles and with gas at 4 bucks a gallon it's not worth building a comp based crawler. But since the wraith is being released, I'm deciding to build my king in to a king of the hammers edition. Manta chassis WK axles AX-10 tranny Reedy 3300KV motor More to come. Here is a little work so far. I'm just mocking it up for right now, since I need supplies. Been too long since I've needed custom building stuff. Lmao Last edited by Statix; 04-27-2011 at 09:56 PM. |

I decided it's good enough for just bashing the hell out of it. It's kinda hard to get good action shots with my iPhone. Geared at 14/90 The 3300 has wheel-speed and torque I need, just need to set the drag brakes up. I wonder if my lhs still has dog bones in stock lol. I would have put the 1410Y 4 pole out of my SC10 but I'm not ready to replace the whole drive train yet. |

You'll freak those dog bones are still the same ones that came in the rtr kit 3 years ago. I've blew the ring and pinion up, like 4 times. I need one weak spot, since the tranny is locked, the drive shafts are damn near bullet proof, and the diffs are locked out. I've got two new ax10 rings and pinions wait to be installed. I've been told I'm not bashing it hard enough before. Last edited by Statix; 04-29-2011 at 06:18 AM. |

Looks good, Im digging the manta chassis. Now you just need to make some side panels, roof and hood panel for it! I also built a wheely king back when you had to fab everything yourself, pulled it off the shelf about a year ago and started updating it. The only thing I've broken on mine is the ring and pinions, no problems so far with the dogbones. (knocks on wood)

Just a little fun before I clock in at work. I don't have any crawler battery packs anymore so I just tried one of my race packs lol. |

@getbet, yeah I need to fab up some side panels and cut the damn all thread off where I tried mounting the body the first time. Don't know what ring and pin was skipping today but I heard it nice and loud.

^^^ Ok, I said you just needed some body panels, but I am going to correct that statement. You need a battery mount and some body panels. LOL! I will be watching to see how this one turns out. |

That's what the axles are for lol. I'd be a smart a$$ and do stand offs for the body panels kinda 3D the chassis

Ok picked new dremel, time to start the custom work again lol. Ive got a few ideas kicking around for a servo/battery mount. Offsetting the servo to the left side with the battery mounted to the right. Also looking at some vp rims, dunno yet. Thinking about making new chassis plates out of black Delrin with 1/16" standoffs mounting the clear poly body panels. Throw in any ideas since I'm bored...lol Later |
