I put together a video real quick to show the improvements I've seen from some fairly simple mods, starting with a stock WK. The "before" truck was out of the box (no electronics kit) with: Stock 27t motor, XL5 esc, stock gearing, front tires reversed, rear brace removed, diffs locked, and 6 cell nimh mounted under the front chassis. The "after" truck was the same, plus: Rooster Crawler esc and 55t motor, geared 18p 96s, front tires reversed and grooved, front and rear wheels weighted, chassis reversed, 2s lipo in battery tray, servo mounted on axle, stock steering links, and chassis stretched to 12.5" wheelbase. Keeping the stock tires is still a pretty big handicap, but I think you can see the realized difference from the fairly tame modifications. Biggest difference is in the weight placement - the before truck lurches over rocks and is ready to tumble without warning. The after truck takes the same lines without much trouble, and in some lines it flows right across without a pause. At the end is just some trail running, I wanted to get more but the camera's batteries went dead. Hope you enjoy! http://media.putfile.com/Wheelie-King-Crawler---Changes |
