Question would this work?

I've seen this and it looks like this could work and that it could be mounted to the Wk tranny, this would effectivly lower the speed and increase the torque but then you got the tranny and the pinion and spur, altogether it should have high torque and extremly low speed.

would this work? theres also 4:1, 2:1

Yes it would work. Might be too slow depending on the motor you use though.

So is the idea to use a lower turn motor to get both, high torque and good wheel speed?

A 35T to 45T. what about the 2:1? wouldn't that be better for wheel speed but have a significent amout of torque?

If the gear reduction unit is anything like the "speeder" unit they sent me (instead of 1:2 it's 2:1) ... it will not fit the HPI motors without some grinding. It will fit an Integy though. I have not tested it with others.

I really think that a 96t spur and 15t pinion is perfect provided you have a decent speed control. Slow is great, but there have been multiple occasions where I have seen guys with the super low crawl speeds fail at obstacles where a little wheelspeed got others over.

It seems that this would be very helpful in getting the best combo of torque and wheel speed when tested with a number of motors & spur/pinion combos...

ya it say's that you might have to grind the gear reduction abit to fit moters but this could give you alot of torque but not with a 60T moter.

i have a 96t spur and 12t pinion and it seems to work great with a 55t motor has alot of torque but has decent wheel speed im going to try the 15t see how that works out
