Default DNA Wheelie King Build

Guys thought I would drop this in the forum aren't to many pics of the new VF Wheelie King Chassis Floating around.

There were a couple little issues. With RCP Crawler's Max clearance hubs and clockable axles, I needed to trim the Servo plates side mounts and the steering link needed to be bent ever so slightly to allow for full turning clearance. With stock hubs and axles neither of these would have been an issue.

Obviously, I still have a way to go.

It's supposed to be a direct conversion for the WK so the Motor rides up top.

I think you're getting a little too much flex out of it in that first pic. 95 degrees is too much

Absolutely! - the free articulation on the VF WK is sick.

I am thinking about using Revo shocks and doing a droop configuration, but still messing around with everything. The most obvious problem is ride height. Needs to drop by at least 3/4".

Looks good so far. Your going to need some T-maxx shocks. I haven't tried Revo's but I think they will be too short. I tried Mini Lst's with some larger ends on them to lengthen them a bit, but they were still way too short.(3" eye to eye)

Sick? I don't know about you, but I think that is a bad thing. Other than that, nice build.

I wonder if we could trouble VF to make a "bolt on" dig assembly for us like they did the AX10?

Not that my setup doesn't work just fine but they make some good looking stuff.

How about it VF?

You can always limit articulation - that's a lot easier than the other way around.

I dont wanna say too much but design is done and as soon as we can fit it in, prototypes will be built and tested. Did I say too much?

Looks like you've done it well thus far Tony, we have given them proper articulation in a number of ways...again, limiting is easy once you get here. Suspension cycles smooth though doesn't it? Anyway, cheep and easy would be to just put some spacers or nitro fuel tubing inside the shock body beneath the piston. My shop "Bling King" (setup with 55 degrees of art.) runs the integy shocks in droop form and works awesome! Tony is right on with the intention of this chassis, any newb should easily be able to just bolt their stock WK stuff to this kit with no trouble and have something that will way out perform the stocker. Run a light weight brushless for power and the cg is honestly much lower than you would believe.

F'n A! Let me know if you need any testers. I'd be honored to beat on one and put up a review on my site.

If not, I'm in for preorder!!!!

Dare I push my luck? ...... How about some metal gears or a slipper eliminator?

Drop or Sprung on this chassis? What do you think.

Either way is good, however, if I had the resources(Money), I would do droop. Partly because it would lower the COG even more than the new chassis already did, and because it would be slightly more controlled.
Droop it!!!!

I went with a droop style setup. The ProScaler's scale chassis rccrawler.ca (yes I typed it right) is just wrapped up recommended droop, but also supplied 4 Bic pen springs to go under the pistons - it worked great in conjunction with 80wt oil and external limiters. I just copied that setup and made a word of difference from a sprung setup.

The other change I made. Originally I assembled all the links with Emaxx link ends. That setup netted a 12.25" wheelbase, however the clocking was off. I just finished the tweak which was using longer Jato Link Ends on just one end of the front and rear upper links. This pushed out the wheelbase to 12.5" and corrected the clocking.

The final articulation ended up around 60 degrees however I still might tighten that up just a tad.

I will post pics later.
