Does anyone have any information as to when HPI is actually going to start selling this kit? Its been posted on their web site for a month and all it says is "out of stock". some people might acutally want it so they can get a project started or something.( the last sentence was just a bit of a rant)

although I love my WK and have already done my own stretch because I didn't want to wait forever. I feel that HPI is very slow with there progress on pretty much anything. Really how long has it been since phase 1 WK crawler. I must say that if you have any disire to build a WK crawler in the next year or so, I would build it by scratch. Even though the kit looks pretty much complete I am sure that you will find a lot that you would change. This is one of the pros of building your own. You can do whatever you want and likley in a lot shorter time than waiting for HPI to step up to the plate. Just my 2 cents. Oh and good luck with your WK.

I've just About given up on HPI and decided to return my WK to basher duty and eventually purchase an AX-10 for crawling. My LHS barely carries any relevant HPI parts, whereas they have lots of Axial parts. That said, I like my WK and plan to keep it.

i talked to the reps of hpi at rcx and their issue as of then was that they feel the tire compound was too soft and they sent it back to molding to stiffen it up abit i believe this is the issue i could be wrong but i did get to see the kit installed and it was of good quality

I talked to a rep from HPI back in May and he said it was due out within 3 weeks. I looked the other day at TowerHobbies site and it says due mid-August. Build your own, tons of part to choose from.

All I want is the LCA mounts for the axles, but wasn't this kit supposed to be out nearly 2 months ago? We've got a customer at the store who's been waiting on his for a while now!

If you want some links and don't want to wait, then hit up your LHS and see if you can get some Traxxas ones. Traxxas #5139. 118mm. (For lowers) (2) Traxxas #5138. 102mm. (For Uppers) (2) Tamiya #9804179 Upper/lower suspension stays (1) That's the parts recommended for conversion. You'll need longer props too. Hope that helps. Can you give us a list/pics of exactly what's in the kit? The HPI website description was really confusing, and They've not shown pictures of the exact parts included as far as I know.

HPI has in stock all the parts "kits" that go into the Crawler conversion kit. But if you add up all the kits it only comes to 52.00. The complete crawler kit is 79.00 so it must come with more stuff... None of the smaller kits come with the 17mm hexes or the diff locks. http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/85632/ < lower link mounts in this kit... http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/85633/ http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/85637/ http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/88076/ This next link shows all... http://www.hpiracing.com/kitoptions/10830/ Last edited by galaxiex; 07-26-2008 at 03:58 PM.

There are a number of higher quality parts available to convert your WK available from other companies. Links, ends, lockers, ect., it's all over the place. I wouldn't wait for HPI to release theirs if it were me. If cost is the main issue, the links and various other parts can be made fairly cheaply. If you can use a hacksaw and a drill, you're halfway there already. My WK was stretched and modded and could be set up for crawling for about six months or more now. It's too fast for crawling ATM, but I use if for bashing anyway. C'mon guys, get out the tools and get to the modding! T.D.

does the kit flip the chassis or does it let you use the stock servo location, i'm thinking about building a wk crawler but i want the servo to stay up high so i can crawl around in creeks and stuff, its not going to be a comp rig or anything so i dont need to spend lots of money on a new waterproof servo.
