you're cursing the slipper for now breaking anything?? huh? I'd think that would be a good thing! As for Alum vs. steel. I'd think alum would hold up just fine for RCC. Steel is just extra weight. Hell, if plastic tranny gears hold up (for the most part), aluminum would be indestructible by comparison.

The aluminum should definitely be stronger than the plastic. The real question is the wear. Aluminum typically doesn't wear nearly as well as plastic (aluminum wears out faster). Keep some grease in there and it should be good though. If you try them, report back and let us know what you think. Edit: (I assume your talking about the ckrc aluminum and rc4wd steel gears?)

sorry i didn't make that clear but yes tranny gears, I use heavy duty automotive grease (it's what i got lying around) ya i probably cursed my self, about things not breaking. I just ordered the gears and a set of rock claws and beadlocks so I'll let you know how they do. oh by the way just to let you know I'm already running rcp axle gears and cvds and rc4wd straight rear axles and e-savage drive shafts. 55t novak and rooster crawler ed.
