Default Ultimate WK axles for my new super build

I have picked up all the parts from TSC (where else)

I surmised that since I was breaking inner and outer axle shafts I needed to go bigger if I where to build a super based on WK axles. So I did a little leg work and came up with this

Click the image to open in full size.

Integy alum Castor blocks, alum CLOD knuckles, modified clod axle shafts cut to fit WK lockers and HD cut ring and pinions. TSC delrin shock mounts. 6 x 11 x 4 bearings to carry the larger diameter axle shafts, I still need to make custom spacers for the Knuckles out of teflon and cut down the king pins a tad.

has the same steering as a unmodded WK setup so a bit better than a clod

The overall width went from 8" to 8 3/4" about 1/4" narrower than a stock clod setup

What about the flexing of the stock WK axle cases?

I've heard from more than a few that the case flex has caused them to strip their ring and or pinion.

Remember the chassis design Im using? the cases will be fully trussed. and I dont believe that the cases flex enough to misalign the gears, its more a poor shimming job the sloppy cast gears. The super will also weigh no more than my 2.2 does and Ive had no issues with it (around 8 lbs) I tested the cases with the alum c's and housing braces in place and there is no more flex than the TXT housings

That's right, your running a BM style chassis.

Cool, looking forward to it.

even still I tested the housing against a clod housing the axial housing and the WK flexes less without reinforcement.
