That is a good write up. Let me know how those gear work out for ya. I know there is another member on here that has a set and his teeth are a little bent. Maybe he will see this and post up his dealings.

Looks like the CKRC gears are
14t
21/23t
29t

I believe stock is
14
23/23
28

It's hard to count all those little buggers!

I have run a few batteries through them with no issues and without the slipper slipping. I have a comp this weekend and will update the writeup after that.

I'm the one with the bent teeth. I proceeded with them same steps as in the write-up. Great write-up by the way. I decided to lock mine up. The first or second time out I started to notice some noise mainly in reverse. I popped the tranny open and apparently while going forward it bent the teeth a little bit all of the way around. Therefore, making it not mesh as well in reverse. It still will work but I am afraid it will mess up more. I just can't decide if I should get another set of the aluminum ones or go with the more costly counterpart.

That's crazy. I know the alum is not as strong as steel but it should be much stronger than the plastic it replaced.

Which gears have the bent teeth? Any pictures?

I had my friend Scott come with me to todays comp. He actually competed in my truck as well, so together we went through 6 total courses. It was Scotts first time touching an RC in years and he did pretty well once he settled in. I told him to not hold back in terms of using full throttle when necessary because I wanted to get a good break in for the gears and my new tires.

I never heard the slipper do any slipping but we definitly had it bound up in several places. We ran Panthers and Claws and there was grip all over the place. Somewhere around the last gate he snapped a stubby and I know I wasn't being gentle either.

The results .....

I'm not hearing ANY gear noise. Aside from the stubby and a fried dig servo the rig is running great. I'm hoping to open the case later tonight but I might not get a chance. When I do open it I'll update yall if I find anything interesting.

For now, it seems like they will be up tp the task.

I haven't had problems with mine. I'm running a 7T on 12 cells, so I'm putting them through the wringer for sure!

BLAKE59RT, what kind of grease did you put on the gears?

Question Steel gears?

Just wondering if anyone knows where to get steel gears for the Wheely King transmission? I have searched most of the parts sites and have yet to find them.

EDIT:Never mind, I found them cheaper http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/shop/ind...roducts_id=922

Thumbs up

Thanks for the links I guess the steel gears have been discontinued. What grease is everyone using with these gears? I have a EzRun 1000k bushless setup for it, installed on a SVP2 chassie with the motor clocked for a lower CG. Still waiting for the rest of the parts to get here so I can finish it and get to crawling.
