Default 12T pinion not fitting

Hi guys,

I received a robinson 12T pinion for my wheely king crawler but it doesn't seem to fit any good... The pinion is so small that the motor bumps on the top of tha tranny before I have a good mesh. (I run a 96T spur btw)

Anyone experienced this and has a solution ?

Let me know if it is confusing, I'll try to post some pics.

Thanks

That is a common problem with that gearbox
If you compare the AX 10 48P top gear

witch the 17mm/D 15T Modul 1 on the WK

You may have an idea of why it don´t fit

The WK top gear is larger and so the small pinon´s will only fit on a much larger spur gear
One of my friends use
modul 0.5 100T spur vith an 11T pinon

i just took my dremel to the top of the tran. You don't need much off the top. worked great for me.

Just did it and it's working great.

The first run with my new Novak 55T and the 96/12 spur/pinion was amazing. What a change !

Thanks again for the tip.

I would have just ran a larger spur, but a dremel works too.

If you change to 32p gears you can go bigger dia gears and get a good mesh!!

I got 100-110 I think and the max with stock chassis is about 104 teeth. Allows a tiny pinion from the same place.

that were I got it. I didn't even look at who makes it. I've never seen one before so I just ordered it and didn't even look. They had up to 150T I think.

all i did was take the motor plate off and use a flap wheely on the dremmel and sanded the top off it is really quite easy. i now have 90/14 gears waiting for the 96 spur to come in mail. i had to grind the motor plat alot too

sorry it took me so long to make it back on this guys. I've been out of the state. All i did was sand it flat with the screws. you will have to make room on the motor plat too so the motor can go down.
