| hi i have a few questons about my wk, 1st is: i have pulled the rear diff off and apart and locked it and have put it all back together but the driveshaft has a angle in it half way down as if the bottom links are too short or the top links are too long but i am sure it is put together the same as i pulled it apart, 2nd is: if i lock the front diff too, will this limit my turning much? 3rd is: if i extend the wheelbase to 12.5 inch, will a savage body wheel arches line up with the actual wheels on the car? last is: i am getting a servo bracket made to sit the servo ontop of the diff, i was thinking about getting 2 made, and set up 4 wheel steer but if i do, do i just get like an adaptor to plug to servos into the reciever? and if i do that won't the rear servo turn the opposite to the front? thanks |

| Ill do my best to answer. Im sure ill be corrected if im wrong. 1st answer : If youve never had the front axle apart just flip the WK on its side and compare the front axle to the back. They are assembled exactly the same. There are 2 positions on the bottom link of the axle. Make sure those are the same also. 2nd : It will effect the steering a little but your gonna want to lock it if you crawl alot. If you are going to mount servos on both axles then i wouldnt worry about it. 3rd : Most of the savage bodies have different wheelbase's I have 2. The rubicon body on one and the WB is 12.25 and it looks right for it. Then i have a 73 bronco on the other one and the WB is 11.5. I dont compete or anything So i just bought the bodies i wanted to use and stretched the WK to fit the body. As of now both trucks have the new HPI body mount kits to. 4th: If you want it full time 4WS that would work. They make Y adapters that make the servos turn the same way and an adapter that reverse's the polarity on one servo so they turn the oposite way. I run an M8 radio and i just hooked my rear steer to the 3rd channel. I hope this helps. ![]() Last edited by chris4207; 09-02-2008 at 07:02 AM. |
