Default ground clearance on a wheelyking

got my chassis extended and both diffs locked crawls like a dream but when i go over taller rocks i bottom out way to much i have got the original mudking tires would a real rock tire help it being taller?

If they are taller yes, but also a skid plate would help if you are wanting to stick with the stock chassis.

If you're good with modding/fabbing, you could do the "tummy tuck" mod to the stock chassis. I made aluminum side plates to fit inside the plastic chassis where the guts mount up for strength. Do a search or check the thread for more info.

that mud king are just about the tallest tire out there for the 2.2 that i have seen. I was going to do the tummy tuck to mine then i just made a new chassis instead. but if you want to do the tummy tuck i have a drawing for a skid that wraps around the bottom of the chassis. in fact i have one made up because some one ordered one from me then never payed for it.

About the only tire taller than Mud Thrashers is maybe Imex Red Rocks. They hook up alot harder than the stockers, which might shorten the life of your gears.

i have the IMEX A/T's, theyre as tall and wide as the stockers. they get better grip too.

thanks for all the info guys im thinking of getting the flat irons but dunno yet hey nathan lime can u maybe send me a link or someway or even post a pic of that skid plate so i can get an idea?
