Default Wheely King Rtr to crawler

So I am new to this rc thing, but I have always been a fan. I am into anything with a motor and four wheels. So this came naturally. My wife bought it for me since I am doing a frame swap on my full sixe 4x4 right now. Since then nothing has gotten done on my Wheeler. But I am happy to anounce that my WK is doing just fine. Here's a list of things so far.
Novak Goat System
Strc aluminum frame, spools, front steering links, rear lock out, extended wheel base, extended axle width(not used)
Hpi Servo mount, High link brackets, Rod end set, 11t pinion, carbonfibre spur, Hd final gear
Traxxas shafts
Pro Line eight shooter black beadlocks, Flat Iron tires w/memory foam
Imex Mud Hawg 2.2
Pro Line 80's Full size blazer body
Integy MSR 10 shocks (Suck, I just use the stock ones and buy extras)
Duratrax 4200 batts
I am new to the computer thing so I am not sure on how to post pics. Please be patient I'll get some up. Got lots of vids on youtube so I should be able to figure it out.
A few friends since I got my Wk bought ax-10's and I can tell the performance differances. The servo on axle works very nicley ad the simple chasis has good balance to it. I have broken many parts on my WK compared to my friends Axial but my Wk takes a serious beating sometimes, and can haul ass with a few screwdrivers and gears for great jumps.
I really like the WK but I do have a few issues.
Top Heavy
Stock steering sucks(I don't want to put the servo on the axle)
Some reason I burn up or always "crack esc's"

I have put weights in the wheels and within the frame and still seems roll happy. I want to stick with frame I have cause it's got the Monster Truck look to it. I guess I'll just have to deal.
The Steering could be assited with a stronger servo?
As far as my Esc issus, I have a Raytec laser temp gun and the temps never really get that high. Some how every one I have owned so far cracked.(I usaully mount them on velcro)
Any Ideas.
Watch for pics
