http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJJ81&P=ML The STRC kit is a good kit, if you want to keep the stock chassis.

I have a kit i got from TCS crawlers on mine. I had to get rcguy diff lockers and maxx shafts seperate. Crawls good and has some room for split pack on links. Link to kit. http://www.tcscrawlers.com/RC4WD-Ext...6-p-16588.html Last edited by rottenbelly; 01-12-2009 at 04:59 AM. |

i have this kit on my wk and its nice except for the little threaded rods that attach to the upper links..personally i hated those they came unscrewed all the time and i thought of using some thread locker but then i just decieded to make my own upper links out of some allthread and covered it with hollow alum tubing i think this would be a good kit to start out with since u arent going or dont plan on running comps for the pics of the C-10 body check around in the wk pic thread and in the scaler there are tons of them! http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Wheely-Ki...3-p-16913.html

| i disagree. i have this on my wife's wk and it crawls great and will be more than what you need for a basher. the kit is more than worth the money since it's only 50 bucks and comes with everything you need including shafts which makes it the only "real" kit in my book. |

A cheap alternative is to rotate the axle mounts 90 degrees inboard, and extend the upper links with a longer screw and spacer for strength. That should give you about an extra inch or so of wheelbase. T.D. |

This is what i did for my upper link mounts its the stongest that ive seen and it improves your flex. I used a tlt spring mount, some allthred, and a link end. you bolt the tlt mount to the original mount with one of its mounting screws and use a bolt to hold the other side on. get your lower links to the length you want then you can set your upper link length. Hope this helps. by the way i made the lower links cheaper than you can buy them for out of allthread, aluminm tubing, and link ends. I have since upgraded the aluminm tubing to steel push rods from a 6.4l diesel engine that were scraped. they can take a beating. |

Possum, the Hpi crawler kit is perfect for what you are looking for. Ive built a few WK's several different ways, including chassis swaps. After every build I am dissapointed because they dont really suit the WK. It doesnt lend itself to a comp rig as well as the axials and the axles are to large for scale build. But where it does excel is a fun basher, the HPI kit does that well with alot for your $ |

My setup is used for bashing thats all i do with it. and its plenty strong. here is what it is now. with the steel lower links and 4 link setup which was easy to convert to using my mounting setup. |
