Default rear diff gear connected to driveline slips and clicks when bound up.

ok, so i got this 2nd hand anyway. it only does this in forward. i pulled the whole thing apart, thinking it was the slipper in the tranny, it has screws in it now. not moving at all

BUT the rear wheels like to slip on a good climb. I put a small shim between the gear and the axle housing, so the E clip has very little play.

My guess is i just need a new small gear in there? its looking rounded compared to the larger gear.

oh and FWIW, i am running a stock 27t motor, so not gobs of torque like the 65t and 50t in my other rigs.

I am having the same problem. Just curious if the new hardened gear has solved the problem. I shimmed myne twice now, and rounded off 2 gears.
I need a better gear.......

I am going to upgrade to axial ring and pinion. It is a bolt in swap. Only difference is the 5mm output on the pinion.

Will work perfect since I'm running an R2 tranny.

But the hardened stuff should solve your problem.

so if that's the only difference what else needs to be changed to fix this? different drive shaft fitting?
