I ordered the Integy Silver Alloy MSR10 Shock Set and I was wondering if this takes oil or not? With the stock shocks I was having a lot of torque twist with the Mamba Max 4600 and when I went to change the oil the cap broke off. I figure these should hold up a lot better. But to my question, do these need oil when they have the internal spring, if so what oil do you guys use? Can Automotive oil be used? I have Heavy duty Diff fluid that is really thick and I was thinking it would do a good job at getting rid of the torque twist.

How is your rig set up? Shock angles etc etc. Also, yes, your going to want to fill them with oil.

I have the WK chasis, with crawler conversion, Mamba Max 4600 motor, and thats pretty much it... lol I havent moved the shocks are all, it just gets a lot of torque twist, so I was hoping stiffer shocks would take care of that...

Ok, the left front wheel lifts up right? I have the same truck. try putting some spacers in the right rear spring, which should help some. I had the same problem and i have experimented with some different chassis' that i cut from a cutting board. The stock chassis really sucks in my opinion, it has a very high center of gravity due to the motor being up top. You could also position your battery pack on top of the front upper link vs in the battery holder. I am still using the stock shocks as of now and have eliminated a lot of the torque twist by changing the chassis, clocking the motor plate (search "wheely king clock motor") My rig is not together right now but when i get it back together in a few days you can look at my pics and get some ideas.... mostly everything i have learned about rc crawlers is trial and error. Plus testing a chassis design on a cutting board is very easy, they cost like 5 bucks from walmart and cut very easy with a dremel. They are pretty strong too.

hey toms, are you goin fast or gearing down and crawlin? cause rottenbelly gave me a good idea about putting spacers inside the shock restricting the travel and lowers it. worked wonders for me (goin fast) and atleast one of my stock shocks top pops off every other run all the oil comes out, but I just screw it back on and keep on keepin on. because the travel is so little and the spring is so tight that i cant really even tell that there isnt oil . zero body roll planting all 4's 90 percent of the time. other 10 percent is me not containing the beast

I will see how these new shocks work out. It was really irritating having the shock top pop off all the time, then when I went to take it off of another to change the oil it broke... lol These new shocks are aluminum, so I should not be breaking them...

Oh and I am at 15/96, so it moves pretty fast. I haven't changed the gearing much.
