I have a Wheely King, well what used to be a Whelly King lol. I use a JR ST126MG - 126 oz/in Metal Geared Servo. I got it from Hobbytown USA for about 40 bucks. It has worked well for me so far.

I like the Jr servos like the 8711 with 400+ oz's of torque. If you are looking for a good cheap servo look at hobbypartz.com.
I use the towerpros and the exi226 for my kids and wifes rigs and they hold up fine. Price is great also!

It is nice!!! If my front wheels are jammed up against something it will swing the rear around! It is tough on plastic knuckles though. It likes to break em. I run this servo it is great and has 3 year warranty.

wow. thats amazing, now that I have spent a gazillion bucks on getting my rig built, the next thing on my list is to convert everything on the axles to aluminum - to go along with my new chassis.

I was planning on running a BEC unit so I can use the battery power to power the servo for max power. I see that alot of people on here are using the hitech 645MG servo for their steering. Is this servo strong enough? My rig is currently this WK axles /w lockers, Axial scorpion chassis, stock radio, novak XRS esc, and integy 55T lathe motor, axle mounted servo. I plan on using it for bashing and playing around so I don't plan on going to any competitions. So let me know.

That servo would be fine for just running around. I would run a bec since a xrs only appears to have a 1 amp built in bec.

With radios that dont have end point setting running a castle bec you must be careful not to overdrive the servo or the castles burn out quick. I went thru 3 before i figured it out!!

If the 645MG will be a good fit thats what i'm going to prolly get. I'm looking at the novak BECs. I think with all these mods, all I have to figure out is the steering links, and get rid of the torque twist. Other than that we'll be good to go. I also need opinions on 4WS.....good, bad,or indifferent. I notice the truck doesn't steer like a stadium truck or buggy. I know the lockers take away the steering, so is 4WS right for me? Thanks

With the stock radio 4ws would be possible BUT your rear would always steer oppisite of the front unless you get a 3 channel radio with a 3 position switch. Then you could have independant rear steering. It is fun but i really didnt care for it. CKRC crawlers has steering links.

As for torque twist, i triangulated my lower links. 4 linked the uppers and on the chassis side of the uppers raised them up a little. This is a pic of my wk tranny in a axial chassis, you can see where i drilled a hole for upper rear links.

I have the aluminum upper link mounts to make the wheely king into a 4 link. I have noticed that making it a 4 link it takes away some articualtion, is this normal? I also have wheely king shocks on it, and I also hae mirrored the trans the torque twist is still there. I like the 3 link setup because of the articualtion, but if 4 link is more than enough articualtion then i'll go back to 4 link.

For just bashing around 4 link provides plenty of articulation. To much actullay can hurt you in comps and such. I have mine limited in my comp rig so that my front tire only lift as high as the top of the rear tire. heres how i limited my shocks. Just helps with a lower center of gravity.

So if thats the case....the WK shocks are too long on the axial chassis with WK axles? Im looking into running fuel tubing as limiters inside the shocks. I also have about 3.25" ground clearance on this rig.

Sound kinda high. My wk shocks worked best at 4 inches eye to eye on my axial chassis. Kept the articulation in check and got my cg nice and low. I think my ground clearance was 2.85 inches with the shocks that way.
The plastic spacers are less prone to splitting than the fuel tubing and stay out of the way of the oil flow holes in the shocks.

I have the aluminum upper mounts to make the WKaxle a 4 link and I have some t-maxx links to mount where your bodymounts on your axial chassis is. How would that work?

http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Visionary...h-p-16470.html These are what I have. I can run from these to where the body mounts are supposed to be. I moved my mounts up to just behind the shock mounts. Your set up looks good how does it work? How do you like the straight axle ends?

Those will work great. I use those on my sons. Still give you a four link. The top link mounted were the body mount should be ok. I try to keep my upper links parrallel to the ground.
That setup on mine worked great. it would crawl a steeper angle than a slightly modded ax 10 artr!!!! Your best bet is just try a few different spots with the links. I have a board setup with some griptape on it. I set it at a angle and try different setups. It is amazing how moving a upper link one hole up or down affects these rigs. It can mean the difference between lifting a wheel and rolling over completely. Glad i could help
