Default Mud Runner

Ok so its not exactly a crawler but after building several crawlers and then selling them due to never driving them, i decided to throw this together and churn some mud with it. This is the list so far.

WK roller
HD ring and pinions
Waterproof XL5
Waterproof 2075 steering servo
2.2 mud slingers on pede wheels
Enerland 2S 5100 hard pack lipo

So far just ballooned the electronics, and added waterproof traxxas servo, but i am also thinking im gona lock out the diffs. Not really sure what else imma do for it, maybe a custom chassis one of these days.

I found out the hard way to use a filter over your motor if you are going to be in a lot of mud and water. I was running with no filter and every so often something would get between the brush and armature so i would have to take out the brush and use compressed air to blow it out. I finally ruined my $30 1/18 motor when something hard got into the can and ate one of my brushes and ate into my armature.

I plan to get the outerwears filter to put on there. I have been working some unreal hours lately so i haven't had much time to do anything. I figure for the time being i can slide a the outer foam filter from an old savage intake on there to keep the grime out.

ok i got everything in and started the build. The first problem i ran into was the fact that the maximizer lockers will not work with the HD ring and pinion. This put me in a bind because i want to run locked but i have broken the ring and pinion on a WK before and i don't want that to happen again. I got the front fitted with the HD gearset but now i can't decide what to do with the rear. I had some lunsford turnbuckles from another truck i wan't using so i used those as lower links in the front and rotated the mounts to get a hair more wheelbase.
Few pictures in a minute

why would it be any worse than nimh and mud/water? The rig is far from done and the battery will be in a balloon before i put it underwater.

yes water proof is bad for lipos but as long as they are in something...only maxamp lipos are waterproof.

well i mean i don't know alot of info but some lipos tend to inflate when exposed to water, and then they are runined. i know one of mine did that. water isn't good for any batts but you can get away with it with no harm.
