lil' lucifer 02-06-2010 11:09 AM

come on Kris....anymore updates?

I'm gonna have to get some more of that thicker delrin from you. Need to make my lowers again. Thin stuff bends WAYYY to much!

"thumbsup"

jsj1982 03-15-2010 08:23 AM

hows the build going?

EHeye 11-18-2010 11:12 PM

Back from the dead, again. Lol.

Kraqa swung by my house on my birthday a couple weeks ago and presented to me my crawler. Motor mount completed, electronics tray and a few other little things! "thumbsup" Thanks bud!

I just have to finish up the wiring and fix one of the link mounts. Hooked all the electronics up and everything works great! The main goal to this project was to get the motor up front in a narrow chassis as low as possible. And still have as much fun gettin on it as I did in the last chassis. This is also using ALOT of stock or slightly modded WK parts.

The body

Here you can see how low the motor actually is.

From how I cycled it and tested its COG, balance, etc. I think Kraqa may have nailed the design on this one.

The specs:

Kraqa WK Chassis
12.3" WB on Wheely King Axles w/ Axial HD Lockers
Custom tuned WK Shocks front and rear for droop in front
Delrin lower links, bent rear
Delrin rear upper links, steel front upper links
45T Integy motor
1350mah 3S (20C, 40 Burst) Lipo
Tekin FXR ESC
WK Tranny w/ 96-15 Spur-Pinion
HS 5955TG Steering Servo w/ HeyOK BEC
Losi Claws w/ Panther Memory Foams

Just ordered some new link mount stuff, hopefully have it soon.

looks good.

time for some bigger tires.

I like the idea of the motor plate. I would like to see a pic of the plate off the chassis.

EHeye 11-19-2010 10:14 AM

Top secret :flipoff:

Its just drilled and tapped on the sides, screws through the chassis. Makes it very solid.

EHeye 03-09-2011 10:00 AM

I have had several hours on this chassis and everything seems to be good. Only broke one axle shaft but that was me just being dumb and launching it off of random things, "quality testing" :flipoff:

The WK Tranny slipper has started to be a pain in the arse, so im gonna rip the truck down, do a one over on everything and locktite it all back together. I should rebuild the axles and give them some lube while im at it. "thumbsup"

skullking 03-09-2011 06:51 PM

If your going to rip it down you should look into mine or someone elses Slipper Mods... Chassis looks Cool...

adamargue 03-09-2011 10:12 PM

That chassis looks real good like the motor plate also "thumbsup"

Dillpickle 03-10-2011 05:14 AM

The chassis looks really nice, I don't own a WK though...

EHeye 12-02-2011 03:13 PM

Still beating on it, haven't replaced anything. "thumbsup"

WK gear is under rated.

Re: WK Full Droop Comp Chassis!

The tranny finally let go last year when I was on Vancouver Island on a camping trip. I had it packed in a box and finally pulled it out. Apparently salt water + metal = copppery badness :flipoff: The 3S battery also has seen better days (swollen on one side). So I am taking this opportunity to tear it all down, replace some screws and bearings.

I swapped all the internals from a known good tranny into this case and its MUCH smoother to turn. Very excited to test it out. I dont think I am going to do the slipper mod because I have never really needed it. I also do not want to move the weak link down, replacing a tranny in this thing takes about 2 minutes. "thumbsup"
