Unhappy My new Wk with leaky shocks

I just bought this Wk off of ebay for $119. It runs great but I have two leaky shocks, and I was wondering how i can fix it. I was also wondering what size body i can order for it. It has the stock body on it but I want something a little better and cooler looking. I was also wondering if anyone knows where the cheapest 4wd kit is. I got it with only 2wd and was looking at going 4wd. I know ckrc has one for $30, but I wasn't sure if there was any cheaper. Thanx

On my WK I had the same problem on the shocks. If you have the shocks at extreme angles they will pop the caps. Aside from buying new shocks , look at them and see if the threads on the caps or the bodies are screwed up at all . If so just replace the bad part. If everything looks fine use teflon tape (about 2 wraps) on the shock bodies and make sure the caps are on on snug.
You can buy the tape at any hardware store for less than a buck, its a cheap fix.

Word of caution though, The teflon tape also makes the threads slick so dont overtighten the caps or you run the risk of stripping the threads.

The other fix would be to look for some aluminum shock caps.

Hope this helps. Or just go aluminium and forget about it.

As far as I can tell the caps are fine, I know they are snug because i just did tightened them. Could it be an excess of oil in the shock. or the O-ring has already quit just wondering. Your right eventually i will have to go aluminum but for now i can't.

remove oil, use internal and external springs to control. Has worked great for me.

Are They leaking at the caps?? If so I would think that It is probably too full. I always filled mine about an 1/8th of an inch from the top.

I never run shock oil in my shocks, just use internal springs and call it a day.

You have to look for a 1:10 scale body, that's fits perfect.

Thanx for the come back. The body size is a great help now I know what to look for in that area. As for the shocks, they both seem to leave too much oil behind after they rebound. That's why I thought excess oil.
