| Differential Crunch
Has anyone else experienced with there king, a crunching sound from the rear differential? If so how did you fix it?. It is only 2wd drive right now. I was also wondering if it has slipper clutch, I can't find that it does on the website. Could it also be the transmission, just wondering.

It just maybe the slipper. It is built in to the trany. You may also have broke a tooth in your rear.

The WK diff gears are known to fail pretty easily, shimming them tighter seems to help. If you're going to throw alot of power at them, there are upgraded gearsets available, I believe the Nitro RS4MT gears are hardened steel. Somewhere in this thread there should be a link. Hope that helped. A slipper clutch failure would affect both front and rear, so it's more likely an R/P gear that died if you only lost power to one end. T.D. |

There is no loss of power or any broken tooth. The gear is a little worn on one side but it doesn't look like enough to do what it is. I think you might be right about the clutch I just wasn't sure whether it was built in or what. thanks guys it has been a great help. If you have any other idea let me know |

I have done a little more examining of the gear and found out that it is the Final gear in the differential that is starting to strip. Now my question is where can i find one that is cheap. |
