| Traxxas 12T 550 Titan in a WK?
Ive got a brand new Titan 550 sitting on the shelf from my Stampede. Ive got a (for all intents and purposes) brand new Wheely King coming to me within the week. Its all stock and has the stock HPI 27T motor in it. Is the Titan going to perform better in mild crawling conditions? Im keeping my 'Pede for speed bashing, but would like to keep some speed in the King...55T lathe motors and gear reduction units are not happening...Itll be more general purpose trail, snow, mud type driving. Oh better question, will the stock HPI ESC support a 12T 550 motor? I dont really want to swap my XL-5 over, the ESC mounting location on the 'Pede gets soaked in wet conditions and I want to keep the waterproofness there. |

I'm not too sure how it would crawl with that and I doubt that the stock ESC could handle it, I've thought about sticking one of my extra E-Revo Titan 550's in mine when the Integy 55t buys the farm.

You will probably burn up your ESC. If memory serves me corectly the stock HPI ESC is only rated down to 21 turns.

Ok, Id rather not burn it up since I dont have any spare ESC's. The XL-5 is rated to 12T 550 or 15T 540. I will eventually put in an XL-5 and Traxxas blue servo (2075 waterproof model) along with the Traxxas waterproof receiver box. Now I guess the big question becomes...do I leave my old Midnight II motor in my Stampede or swap it to the Wheely King? It's a 27T 22 degree ROAR stock class racing motor. I know this is mainly a crawling site, but this is one the only dedicated Wheely King forums I could find.

| Yes the stock HPI ESC is rated at 21 turns. I fried my HPI esc with the stock 27T I build a tranny for Chongdigga and he uses a 5700Kv BL motor in his Sand King I use a 3500Kv motor and VXL-3s in my Wheely King formula offroad So speed is possible with the propper esc and motor |

Well, so far without actually owning the truck yet, Im thinking Im looking for it to be the off road work horse out of my two. Brushless would be too fast for it. It will see some jumps, some pavement runs, and alot of general use. Ive already determined Im not locking the diffs, but will slow them down with some heavy grease. I think eventually it will be a tough truck or trail rig...but for right now it will be a normal monster truck.
