Hey guys noob alert:

I have a crawler king thats stock except for a STRC steering kit. Want to go with an axle mounted servo.....is the crawler king chassis diff then the wheely king? Cause my upper link mount hits the bottom of the batt tray stock at full bump....so if i did this mount the servo would stick up a good 1/2" further then the upper link mount and I'd be loosing 1/2" travel.....that make sense? Anyone delt with that before?

You need on that mounts the servo to the side of the dif a little lower than over the diff apps. I made my own. I can post a pic when I get home if you PM me to remind me.

Would this be a better mount than straight over the axel?

I would think it would clear the chassis better than a top mounted servo mount and also help with torque twist...

The axle mounted servos rarely clear the STOCK chassis. The rcguy servo mount would be best for clearance on the stock chassis.

Servo placement has no effect on torque twist except for lower weight placement. Link placement has the most effects on torque twist. 4 linking is a great start in fighting torque twist, As is shorter shocks.

servo.

that might not be too good of an idea see all the traxxas servos are nylon or plastic gears so if you didnt use a servo saver you will prob strip the gears in no time IMHO!

Other than the problem you described with the Team STRC alloy steering how does it work for you? Does the servo work fine now? I have a stock Crawler King and the steering is so weak that you have to be moving for the tires to be able to turn lol. Anyways do you have both the alloy linkage and the alloy bellcrank? Are you trying to sell this setup? LMK!

It helped alot, plus it looks ALOT cooler lol. Other then the bellcrank(yes that is alum as well) flex it works really well. Much better then stock but still the servo is a bit underpowered. I am willing to sell it actually, looking to do an axle mounted servo. PM me if you want it! Thanks.

Good reason to run a metal gear servo!
